Abstract

The appts. contains a probe which is moved along the skin and measures the change of the skin resistivity. The acupuncture points, having a lower ohmic resistance, are thus easily and accurately detected. The appts. contains an amplifier, a warning device such as a pair of LED's connected to the output of the amplifier and a power supply. The sensitivity threshold of the amplifier is adjusted by an internal potentiometer and an external knob which is also used as a switch. The probe is connected to the input of the amplifier and its casing is connected to the amplifier earthing point.

danger to the body, can effectively relieve certain ailments, and constitutes

the effective and practical complement to certain medical techniques.

The method according to the invention, of precise location of an acupuncture point is characterized by the continuous detection of changes in

resistivity of the skin in a predetermined area,

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, said

warning circuit includes visual information means consisting of

two indicator lights of different colors.

Advantageously, the electrical circuit is produced in the form of integrated circuits, circuitc of small bulk and of great reliability and sensitivity.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description

the amplifier switches over, causing the LI led to go out and the red L2 led to light up. The sensitivity of the circuit is manually adjusted by operating the n button so that the green led is on when the probe is moved over the skin outside a preferred point, and the red led turns on. lights up when passing a privileged point. Since the normal resistivity of the skin varies from one individual to another, these differences are compensated for by adjusting the potentiometer.

By way of nonlimiting exemplary embodiment, an apparatus according to the invention has been produced with the following characteristics:
