Abstract
The walking ski for use on water comprises a foam-filled or inflatable boat-shaped body (1) with foot fixture (10) on its upper surface and a recess (6) with rubber flap (7) at the underside. The recess and flap are arranged such that the flap lodges in the recess during forward movement and projects during rearward movement to provide the necessary resistance in the water. This resistance may, alternatively, be provided by rigid flaps hinged to the underside or to the sides of the body. A keel fin (11) provides rectilinear motion. Ski sticks with buoyancy members may be provided to steady the user. FL.
Description
In
(fig. III)
"Device that a person uses
can move on the water "
The object of the invention is to admit a person
allow to move on the water by
part of floats attached to the feet. In
each hand is held a stem to which a float is also attached, this for easier
maintain his balance.
The version described below is only for
image given and in no way restrictive as an embodiment.
The float to be attached to the feet (according to fig. I) has the shape of a boat to cause as little resistance as possible during forward movement. It consists of a casing 1 that may be
from an upper part 2 and a part 3 is joined with a seal no. 4. The casing
is filled with plastic foam nr 5 (see fig. II) The float can also be made of PVC foil which is welded together and through a valve
can be blown up.
At the bottom is a cavity No. 6 which is closed with a flexible rubber No. 7.
When moving forward, the rubber plate settles in the cavity and does not give water resistance
(see fig. II)
As the float moves backwards, the rubber sheet No. 7 opens and catches an amount of water, creating sufficient resistance to stay on the spot. You can move by alternately moving the left and right foot. The rubber flap can also be replaced by one or more flaps nr 8 (see fig. IV) Moving forward, the flap hits the wall
and backwards it is perpendicular to the bottom, creating water resistance - according to No. 9.
At the top, the floats are provided with two rubber pieces No. 10 to attach the feet as is usually done with a water ski. To obtain a rectilinear movement, one or more keel-shaped fins nr 11 can be applied.
The flaps or rubber flaps can also be mounted on the side according to No. 12, which makes it easier to go on solid ground. (fig. III)
