Figure 1 un dispositif automatique d'immobilisation suivant l'invention à l'état ouvert :

<EMI ID=12.1>

We. already knows numerous fastening devices of this kind in the form of a frame, the lower part of which is connected to a ground anchor and the upper part of which consists of frame crosspieces which can pivot relative

the introduction of the head of the animal.
The object of the invention is to provide improvements to this type of attachment device, such as greater flexibility and particularly easy pivoting, thus giving the animal greater freedom and simplicity of construction which allows relatively low cost price, and a very simple assembly and disassembly facilitating their replacement by a Dutch chain to hamper for example a bull.
An automatic collar in the form of a frame for immobilizing livestock, the non-deformable lower part of which is connected to a ground anchor and the upper part of which is suspended from a gantry, is formed of frame cross members hinged on the lower part to constitute a deformable assembly, in which the frame crosspieces, separated from one another in the open position, are brought closer to one another in the closed position by the animal itself, when it gliases its head in the collar, is characterized in that the deformable assembly is formed on each side of the collar of a set of two tubes articulated to one another, so as to be able to pivot in various planes.

by 1; through pivot axes, and by an unstable equilibrium member passing from the open position
in the closed position by a simple push on the collar.
According to the invention also, the collar is suspended at a point at its top, by means of the box, in a pivoting manner at the gantry.
To better understand the invention, it is described in more detail below on the basis of the appended drawings, by way of example only, showing in:
Figure 1 an automatic immobilization device according to the invention in the open state:
Figure 2 the device of Figure 1 in the closed state.
As can be seen in the drawings, the immobilizing device according to the invention consists of a collar forming a frame (generally designated by 1) connected to the ground by a chain 2 and an anchor 3 and to the upper spar 4 of the gantry by an articulation pivot 5.
The lower part 6 of the collar connected to the anchor
floor is made in one piece and has, as is common, the shape of a U, the upper ends of which are hingedly connected at 7 to the upper part 8
of the said necklace. According to the invention, this upper part 8
of the necklace is formed on each side of a set of two

deformable in all directions.
Towards their upper end the upper tubes
<EMI ID = 6.1>
through a pivot axis 11, housing which is suspended from the girder spar 4 by a suspension rod 12 forming
<EMI ID = 7.1> By means of lugs 13 each mounted on one of the articulated tubes 8b projecting outwards at the location of the housing 10, the two articulated tubes 8b are connected together by a spring 14. This spring 14, which extends parallel to the line connecting the two pivot axes
11 of the articulated tubes 8b, depending on whether it occupies a higher or lower position than this line, tends to keep said arms apart below the shoemaker or to bring them closer.
This spring is adjustable to adapt the collar to the animal.
To allow correct and stable movement of the collar from the open position to the closed position and vice versa, the tubes 8b are still interconnected below the pivots 11 by a guide means, such as a slide 15
<EMI ID = 8.1>
while allowing movement in various directions.
Instead of mounting the holding member in unstable equilibrium 14 as described above, it is also provided according to the invention to provide a guide means comprising the holding member and, for example, to mount a spring on the rod

low and therefore tends, while bringing the collar elements 8b, to spread the upper ends of these tubes. Locking is thus obtained in the closed position, but the collar remains articulated at 7 and 9 even when it is closed.
According to a characteristic of the invention the various elements 6, 8a, 8b of the collar have the same length or height
<EMI ID = 12.1>
open position is not found, as in most of the common feeders at the top of the collar, and therefore beyond the head of the animal, but just at the level of its horns.
The operation of such an automatic collar is very simple. In the open position (figure 1) the spring
14 tends to open the collar as much as possible, that is to say to spread the lower parts of the tubes 8b as far as possible. As the tubes 8b are part of an articulated frame anchored to the ground, in this open position the chain
restraint 2 is taut and the whole assembly is taut and in an unstable equilibrium, it suffices for the animal to touch with its

and that in any direction, either downwards, forwards, backwards or laterally - so that,
by the pressure of the animal, the collar is placed in an arc of a circle, the tubes 8b approaching one another, and the spring passes from its high position above the line of pivots 11,
where he kept apart the tubes 8b, in its low position below the line of pivots 11, where he places the collar in the closed position by bringing said tubes 8b together. The lock

To open the necklace, just unclip

high, keeping the collar in the open position.
A collar produced according to the invention, which aims to automatically tie the animals in the stable, can be used in winter due to its great flexibility. Indeed, by its pivoting at the top on a single axis of suspension, it can pivot and swing in all directions, which gives great freedom to animals.
In a variant of the invention the spring intended
to maintain the collar in the open position can be replaced by an appropriate pawl, which is released when pressure in any direction is exerted on one of the articulated tubes 8a or on the element 6 by the neck of the animal. The restoration of

Of course, it would not go beyond the scope of the invention to provide the automatic immobilization device, as described above and shown in the accompanying drawings, one or the other purely constructive modification coming within the scope of the claims attached.
