"Recovery fireplace".
The present invention relates to a recuperative fireplace, which can function as a boiler and be
connected to a central heating installation.
The object of the invention is to provide a very flexible recovery hearth which can operate either separately
wood or gas, or simultaneously wood and gas.
A recovery fireplace according to the invention, of
type wood stove, is characterized in that the combustion chamber for wood or other solid fuel is
arranged above a chamber, in which is housed a gas burner and whose flue leads to the
rear upper part of said combustion chamber
under an intermediate flame deflection plate and
fumes protruding forward, the walls in
contact with flames and fumes contain a series
water tubes connected to a central heating installation.
To better understand the invention, it
is now described on the basis of the attached drawing, by way of example only, showing in:
Figure 1 a side view of a recovery fireplace according to the invention; Figure 2 a section through II-II of Figure 1, and Figure 3 in a partial section a construction detail of said recovery hearth.
As can be seen in the drawing, the recovery fireplace according to the invention has in a rectangular profile a combustion chamber 1 for wood or other solid fuel, such as coal, briquettes, prefabricated logs, etc., closed by a fire door. loading 2 with ventilation system.
This chamber extends, on the side of the door, with a grate 3 above an ashtray 4 and, on the other side, above a chamber 5 in which is housed a burner or gas rail 6 with air supply. In bedroom 5 there is a window
control pyrex 7 and under the chamber the regulation block 8.
The smoke duct 9 of this gas chamber 5 opens at the upper rear part of the combustion chamber 1 under an intermediate plate for deflecting flames and fumes 10 projecting towards the front of said chamber. The upper wall of the combustion chamber 1 is also constituted by a flame and smoke bypass plate 11 projecting towards the rear of the chamber above one or more connections 12, to the smoke evacuation nozzle. This branch plate 11 is shown extending partially over the surface of the device but of course it can extend to the other end by providing passage conduits for the fumes in said plate.
All the walls intended to come into contact with the flames and smoke contain a series of water tubes 13 connected on the one hand to a supply pipe for the heating bodies of a central heating installation (not shown) and on the other hand to a return pipe for these heating bodies.
When heating with wood or other solid fuel the heat of the hearth is transmitted to the water which surrounds it through the direct heating surface, i.e. the walls and the bottom of the combustion chamber 1 , and through the indirect heating surface, that is to say the surfaces licked by the fumes and combustion gases, the plates 10 and 11.
In the case of heating by the gas burner 6, the transmission takes place through the direct heating surface, that is to say the bottom of the chamber 1, and through the indirect heating surfaces, i.e. say the walls of the smoke duct 9, the plates 10 and 11 and the walls of the chamber 1.
This fireplace can function as a recovery fireplace with only wood or other solid fuel heating,
it can operate as a boiler with only heating
gas or simultaneous heating of wood or other solid fuel and gas. The radiation of the hearth can be increased by the placement in height of recuperators in cast iron.
In case of prolonged absence, the premises will be kept relatively low by gas heating. Likewise, gas heating can be used while waiting for a wood fire to ignite, for example.
To obtain insulation on the front of the fireplace, it is advantageous to provide behind the cast iron wall
14 with its water tubes 13 an insulating plate 15 externally covered with a decorative coating 16, of cast iron, tiles or other material (Figure 3).
