<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
du bras 4 sont dirigées vers le sol et en contact arec lui ;
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=8.1>

Machine used for hay harvesting and training
swaths. j
The present invention relates to a ma-
china used to collect hay that has been mown and dried
resting on the ground and gathering it into swaths.
The different operations involved in
hay harvesting include mowing, tedding
(turn and turn) to dry it, raking so
from windrowing, collecting and packing.
There are combination machines that make
several of these operations but each operation requires
very specific handling and working speeds which often poses problems from the point of view of <EMI ID = 1.1>
<EMI ID = 2.1>
operations.
Therefore, the current trend is towards machines specially adapted to perform a single operation under the best conditions.
The object of the present invention is to provide a hay raking machine particularly suitable for forming windrows.
A machine according to the invention comprises a casing on which are mounted tine arms
and capable of performing under the control of a power take-off a rotational movement about a fixed vertical axis on which is fixed a cam and is characterized essentially in that means are provided by the-

momentary translation ment- with which is combined
simultaneous rotational movement.
Other characteristics of the invention will emerge from a more detailed description which will be given below by way of nonlimiting examples of
two machines produced according to the invention, with reference to the drawings.
On these drawings:
Figure 1 is a schematic and plan view of the machine according to a first embodiment.
Figures 2, 2A, 3A and 3B are explanatory views.
Figures 4 and 4A show an alternative embodiment.
In the accompanying drawings, there is shown at 1 (Figure 1) the frame provided with a drawbar 2 and at 3 a housing on which are mounted a series of arms
(tine carrier) 4 fitted with tines 5: this housing 3 performs with the arms 4 a rotation around a fixed vertical axis
6 (Figure 2) under the control of a transmission 7 from a tractor.
On the vertical axis 6 is fixed a cam
8 with which is in permanent contact, for each tine arm, a pusher which comprises a roller 9 (figure
2A) mounted on a shaft 10 carried by a fork 11 with which the arm 4 is coupled so as to be able to be rotated.
Near the pusher is fixed on the
arm 4 a plate 12 between which and the housing 3 is wound on the arm 4 a spring 13.
The housing 3 is integral for each arm, a sleeve 14 which surrounds the arm 4 over part of its length; beyond this sleeve 14 and towards the outside is provided another sleeve 15 made integral with the arm 4 by
an axis 16.
The arm 4 carries a bolt 17 introduced
in a groove 18 of cycloldal profile (Figures 3A and 3B) formed in the sleeve 14 so that when the arm
4 tine-holders performs a translational movement it simultaneously receives a rotational movement.
The operation of the machine is as follows:
When the machine driven by the tractor is advancing, the housing 3 is rotated around
axis 6 and drives the tine arms 4 with it.
When the plunger (roller 9) is in contact with the fixed cam 8 in its circular part, the spring
13 is in a state of compression (figure 3A) and teeth 5
of the arm 4 are directed towards the ground and in contact with it;
<EMI ID = 4.1>
<EMI ID = 5.1>
13 relaxes (Figure 3B) and the arm 4 is caused to perform a translational movement while by the cooperation of the bolt 17 and the groove 18, the arm receives at the same time a rotational movement such as to cause a pivoting of the teeth upward and forming a
<EMI ID = 6.1>
FIGS. 4 and 4A relate to an alternative embodiment in which the cam 8 is provided with a peripheral groove 19 in which moves a pusher or a roller 91 provided with a pin 20 which is integral with an arm 41 tine holder as well as a sleeve
14. The arm 4 also carries a sleeve 15 at a location corresponding to that of the sleeve 15 of the <EMI ID = 7.1> surrounded by a tubular part 21 integral with the frame of the machine.
In this closed execution, the device
<EMI ID = 8.1>
a clutch device of the cooperating "dog" type
with the tine holder 4 <1> so that at the same time as a translational movement is caused a rotation of the tine holder which allows the arm to rise and at the same time
time to easily free itself from matter.
In the two embodiments
described above) the translational movement of the tine arms 4 is carried out towards the center or axis 6 for
bring the teeth up 5.
It goes without saying that the translational movement of the arms could possibly also cause the rotation of the teeth 5 away from the center. To do this, it suffices to adapt the shape of the cam 8 and of the groove 18.
