<EMI ID=1.1>
RIBBON DRIVE PROTECTION SYSTEM IN A BOX / DRAWER-SHAPED RECORDER
There are different shaped recorder systems
case / drawer.
In these devices, the cassette containing a
magnetic tape in a drawer on which a part is mounted
elements of training and reproduction of information. When this drawer is closed, the elements of the cassette, as well as
the elements mounted on the drawer, come into relation
with the second part of the training and reproduction elements placed on the fixed box.
This is especially the case of the capstan which is on the
drawer; the cassette, when it is placed in the drawer,
presents the magnetic tape near the axis of the
capstan and when the drawer is closed, this axis cooperates
with a pressure roller mounted on the housing so that the
magnetic tape is trained.
When the appliance is not in operation, and the
drawer does not carry a cassette and is in its position
closed, the pressure wheel, generally made of flexible material, also presses on the axis of the capstan and the latter makes an impression there which, after a certain period of time can be quite
important than to provoke an irregular training by the
after; the pressure roller may cause a momentary or permanent deformation.
The aim of the present invention is to provide means
which avoid these drawbacks.
With a view to achieving this goal, the system, object of the invention, is characterized in that means are provided so that the magnetic tape drive wheel does not receive pressure towards the axis of the capstan only when a cassette is in the drawer.
In order to make the invention fully understood, a non-limiting example of an embodiment will be described below.
In Fig. I we see a fixed box I on which are mounted a reading head 2 and a pivoting lever 3 on which is mounted a roller 4 receiving its pressure by a leaf spring 5 which rests on the case. A movable drawer 6, on which are mounted various drive and

When the drawer is closed, the tape 9 is therefore caught between the capstan 7 and the pressure roller 4 so that it can be driven.
It can therefore be seen in FIG. 2 comment a leaf spring 10
can be fixed on the lever 3 and can come to cooperate with the edge II of the cassette 8 so that only when a
cassette is in the drawer, lever 3 receives pressure in the direction of arrow 12, i.e. the roller is
thrust towards capstan 7.
CLAIMS
I- Protection of the tape drive in a box / drawer-shaped recorder characterized in that means are provided so that the magnetic tape drive wheel receives its pressure only when a cassette, in which the tape is placed, is in the drawer, in its closed position.
