Abstract

Cup or tray-shaped vanes or scoops are mounted around a vertical cylinder. The closed backs of the scoop offer a streamline to any flow and therefore little resistance. The open ends offer full resistance to the flow. The vanes are either hinged half way along its length and at their fixing points or are made from a flexible mat erial so that they will be hinged out of the way to further reduce resistance when the flow approaches the blades from the rear. The rear faces of the blades are further provided with flaps which open when flow end-on. The function of these blades is to open out any blades which are hinged out of the way and to add further to the torque of the assembly.

  DESCRIPTION.-

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

This invention is based on the animometer or wind speed meter. This appliance is equipped with hemispheres. The wind resistance is greater on the concave side than on the convex side.

 <EMI ID = 2.1>

can hinge or fold the convex side in the direction of flow.

The profiles (K) are made in such a way that these movements are limited.

The bellows type (C) pumps between the pallets (B) and the hollow

and secondly to pump water into the hollow shaft (A) under high pressure which can be discharged along (F).
(D) and (E) are the control valves of the pumps (C)

The back of the pallets (B) is smaller than the open front side

 <EMI ID = 4.1>

the hinge points can be placed on the back as well as on the front.

The pallets can also be made ir pliable material so that when the flow comes from the rear, they fold and

remain stretched when the flow from the open side is close to

(M) are valves placed against the back of the vanes.
