Abstract

In a process for mfrg. a thermoplastic hollow article with ridges, e.g. lamp shades, flower ports, vases etc. a stretching tool is introduced into a tubular thermoplastic blank made deformable by heating and the tool is radially stretched to expand the blank at selected zones and form ridges. The moulding is cooled and the tool then removed. The process allows prodn. of articles of various shapes from scrap materials.
