Abstract

An unsatd. polyester resin compsn. for prodn. of sheet material for moulding, contains (1) an unsatd. polyester, (2) a copolymerisable monomer, (3) a satd. liq. polyester, and (4) a cellulose ester. The sheet moulding compsn. comprises (A) the polyester resin compsn. (B) a fibrous reinforcing material, (C) a mineral filler, and (D) a thickener or maturation agent is claimed. The cellulose ester prevents sweating of the liq. both before and during moulding. Shaped articles produced by moulding the sheet material are free from cracks, do not shrink, and reproduces accurately the surface of the mould. The compsns. may be used as one-pack systems.
