Abstract

The nitrocellulose-based varnish contains additives such as plasticisers, dyes, pigments etc. as well as: (a) acid or neutral hydrolysate collagen of animal origin of pH 3-7.5 at 0.05-6%; (b) salt-free or low-salt polypeptides with 0-3% salt content obtained from sclero-protein hydrolysis, and their esters with higher fatty acids (8-18 C) at 0.05-6%; (c) protein fatty acid condensate of formula (I): (where R1 is opt. unsatd. 8-18 C aliphatic; R2 = amino-acid gp.; A = H, alkali or amine, or (poly)valent cation); pref. alkanolamine at 0.05-4%.
