Abstract

Compsn contains(A) as complex-former for alkaline earth ions, 5-95 wt.% of an ether with is not 2 COOH gps. per molecule, is not 1 mole of glycollic acid and 1 mole of a polyalcohol, a hydroxy-mono- or di-carboxylic acid with is not 2 alcoholic OH gps. per molecule or an ether with is not 2 alcoholic OH gps. per molecule, where the hydrocarbon residues of these cpds. are 2-6C and the glycollic acid ethers being pref. present as water-sol. salts capable of complex-formation with alkaline earths and (B) 95-5 wt.% of the usual components of washing compsns. esp. (in) organic cpds. with cleansing activity. The percentages of (A) and (B) are based on the compsn. free from water and/or solvents. The use of the known P and/or N complex-formers is avoided or reduced and the compsns. are not corrosive.
