Abstract
Regeneration of zeolite hydrocarbon conversion catalysts Crystalline aluminosilicate catalyst which has been deactivated in a hydrocarbon conversion carried out at 427 degrees C by a hydrocarbon deposit is reactivated by contacting the catalyst, in liquid or gas phase, with a polar material having a dipole moment in the gas phase of 1.00-4.00 Debye units during a period sufficient to ensure the elimination of a considerable part of the hydrocarbon deposit from the surface of the catalyst. Enables coke deposits, which cannot be eliminated by a purge of inert gas, to be effectively eliminated from the aluminosilicate catalyst. The polar material can be easily eliminated by a purge of inert gas. The polar compd is pref. methanol, ammonia., or water. The catalyst pref. is a crystalline zeolite with a silicalumina ratio of >=2.5.
