Abstract

Dip-moulding pharmaceutical capsules. Moulding plate is bottom-fed to contain a mass of moulding solution which regularly overflows. At each cycle the plate receives a row of moulding spindles for capsules, mounted on a bar to dip each spindle to a uniform depth. The plate can be mounted to next in a solution reservoir to feed it by an uninterrupted flow of solution via openings centered on the long axis of the plate bottom. A tunnel has open ends below the plate and is partly delimited by the plate bottom and partly by cooperating sidewalls which extend as far as the plate bottom sidewalls. Vertical walls extend from 2 diagonally opposite corners of the plate and connect with the rear ends of the tunnel and the reservoir wall and floor. Partitions bisect the tunnel so that the opposite plate edges are selectively guided towards the opposite ends of the reservoir, to be recycled along its length and depth towards the plate by the tunnel and openings.
