Cpds. are those in which one or both hydroxy groups of digitoxose are etherified with methyl or ethyl gps. opt. substd. by methoxy or ethoxy gps. or in which one hydroxy gp. is thus etherified and the other is esterified with an acyl C1-3 gp which may be substd. by methoxy or ethoxy gps. Examples are monomethyl (or ethyl) digoxine, ethoxy methyl monoacetyl digoxine ether, di(methoxymethyl) digoxine ether, they may be administered together with pharmaceutically acceptable carried for the treatment of cardiac ailments.
