Temperature indicating pigments can be: fixed to a support, e.g. machine, container, building etc., at any temperature with perfect protection against corrosion and total resistance to water, by mixing with a binder guaranteeing weather resistance e.g. cyclised rubber, polysiloxane, chlorinated disphenyl etc., and making the mixture suitable for coating by adding a solvent, e.g. a benzenic hydrocarbon. A charge, e.g. SiO2, BaSO4 etc., is optionally included the intensity of the colour change is controlled via the pigment charge ratio.
