Abstract
Additive is dissolved or dispersed in diluent, combined with thermoplastic resin with continuous stirring, dried, freed from volatiles and subjected to high shear. Agglomeration is avoided, additives being incorporated without use of 2-phase process. Resultant preparations can be extruded to multi-filament fibres almost without pressure build-up and without breakage of strands. Additives can be incorporated in any thermoplastic resin, e.g. poly-2-8C olefins, PVC, polymethyl methacrylate and other acrylic resins, ABS polymers. Wide range of additives can be used, esp. pigments.
