<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Bag filter or filter bag cleaning device.
The present invention relates to an automatic cleaning device for a filter bag or filter bag used for the filtration of dusty gases.
The cleaning of these filter sleeves or pockets arranged in large devices is carried out by passing air through them in counter-current with respect to the normal operation of the filtering gas.
EMI1.1
In installations iI1'u ::; triellc'3 1 (; 3: .t <.nc}. <Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In order to avoid the use of these various valves in the present invention, a movable part called "rotating head" capable of successively covering the outlet orifice of each of the cells and of placing them in position one after the other is used. communication with atmospheric air via a fixed part such as a nozzle fixed to the wall of the apparatus.
Given that the device comprising the filter sleeves or pockets is in depression, the simple fact of placing the latter in communication with the atmospheric air entails the suction of the latter.
Consequently, the air sucked in carries away the dust deposited on the surface of the fabric of the sleeves or filter bags to drop them into the hopper of the device.
In order to increase the cleaning efficiency, an adjustable valve can be provided in the fixed part which modifies the vacuum conditions depending on the position adopted. This valve is controlled simultaneously with the rotation of the rotating head, so as to create the shock wave essential for a good cleaning when this rotating head covers a cell. The action of the valve can also be combined with the action of a valve placed at the inlet of the box so as to create during the cleaning period more or less large depressions for the suction of the cleaning air
The rotation of the rotating head, which is done around an axis centered on the outlet flange of the fixed nozzle, is ensured either by electric control or by pneumatic control.
The appended drawing represents by way of example a bag filter comprising the device which is the subject of the present invention.
In the single figure of the drawing, the apparatus 1 comprises filter sleeves 2 and 3 grouped in cells 4, 5 each having an outlet orifice 6 which is successively capped by the movable part called "rotating head" 7.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The rotating head 7 is in communication with the atmospheric air by means of a nozzle 8, the inlet of which is located to the right of the wall of the device 1 and the outlet is read back to: the nucleus of a flange with head spinning. A mechanism not shown, ensures the ro;.: Tion of the rotating head 7 around an axis 9 centered on the outlet flange of the nozzle 6.
The apparatus 1 which is superseded by a fan 10 sucking in the cleaned air comprises at its base a supply duct 11 for the penetration of the dusty gases, as well as a hopper 12 which collects the dust.
The filtration apparatus described above operates as follows:
The dusty gas which enters through the supply duct 11 rises in the apparatus passing from the outside to the inside of the reeds 2 from which the filtered gas escapes through the cell 4 common to the sleeves. 2 under the effect of the vacuum created by the suction fan 10. The path of the gas is shown in the drawing by arrows 13.
On the other hand, the atmospheric air enters through the nozzle 8 into the rotating head 7 then, in the cell 5 com.:.one to the sleeves 3, passes from the inside to the outside of ceu.:-ci by the simple play of the depression created by the suction fan 10. The clean air sucked in carries away the dust which has settled on the surface of the fabric of the sleeves 3 and causes them to fall into the hopper 12. This cleaning air which is entered against the current is itself attracted and filtered by neighboring cells. The path of the cleaning air is shown in the drawing by arrows 14.

An f.écr, nis ::. 1e, not represented, commanded é1cctri :: u ",, ::. O:; n or fJllCU:;: [.. tiqucracnt, allows the rotation of the rotating head 7 which successively caps each of the outlet orifices 6 of the cells, thus ensuring the cleaning of each cell one after the other.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
To complete the cleaning, it is possible, using the adjustment valves 15 and 16 located respectively in the supply duct 11 and in the nozzle 8, to modify the pressure and vacuum conditions.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has been described above and shown by way of example in the appended drawing, and one would not depart from its scope by making modifications thereto.
