<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"Belt and printing process of fibrous materials"
It is known to dye animal and synthetic fibers, such as wool and synthetic superpolyamide fibers, with aqueous dispersions of metallizable azo dyes, and to metallize them on the fiber in the manner of the known metachromic process.
Due to the low rate of metallization, there first of all occurs a rise of the metal-free dye on the fibrous material, / during the dyeing process, possibly with the participation of the free valences of the fibers. fibers, metal complex formation occurs. It is also known to dye animal or synthetic fibers such as wool and synthetic superpolyamide fibers, with aqueous dispersions of metal complex dyes.

As cobalt, the salts of cabalt diacids, mineral or organic, such as: chloride, sulphate, nitrate, cerconate, acetate, tartrate or lactate of cobalt, or agents releasing cobalt which contain the metal have a complex union appropriate.
Textiles of animal and synthetic origin, such as wool and superpolyamide fibers, are dyed using standard techniques for 2: 1 complex dyes rising in a neutral medium. To this end, the aqueous suspensions containing the very finely divided aoic dye and the cobalt salt are introduced into the dye bath, or else the compounds releasing cobalt are added to the dye bath first and then the dyes. finely divided suitable azo.
In general, the material to be dyed is introduced at temperatures of about 40 to 60 ° C. in the dye bath, the temperature is slowly raised and thus the metal complex compounds 2; 1 are formed, and the dyeing is carried out at temperatures of about 90 to 100 C in an open bath or under pressure at temperatures of about 100 to
120 C. The acidity of the dye bath is optionally adjusted with an acid to the desired pH range, which is preferably 4.0-6.5.
Particularly uniform dyes are obtained when dyeing in the presence of leveling, dispersing or wetting agents. Both ionogenic and nonionogenic nature are envisaged. The dyeing being finished, we obtain, after rinsing, dyes endowed with excellent wet fastness, which are also distinguished.

It is furthermore possible to dye the dyes which can be used according to the invention simultaneously in combination with non-metallisable dyes rising on the fiber in a neutral or acid bath.
The process according to the invention, among the materials to be dyed which have been mentioned, is of considerable importance for the dyeing of synthetic fiber materials made of superpolyamides and fiber mixtures with these fiber materials, such as wool-polyamide fiber blends. .
For printing, aqueous dispersions of the suitable, very finely divided azo dyes as well as cobalt-releasing compounds are added to the printing paste.
After printing on fabrics of animal or synthetic origin, such as fabrics of wool and synthetic superpolyamides, and after further steaming and rinsing, prints with excellent wet fastness and strength are obtained. in the light.

holds 4 parts of cobalt sulfate and 200 parts of synthetic superpolyamide fabric in 5000 parts of water.
It is slowly brought to the boil and dyed for 1 hour with an additional 6 parts of 30% acetic acid and 4 parts of an auxiliary leveling agent, for example a polyglycolic ether of phenol. The dyeing being completed, it is rinsed cold and a red-violet dye is obtained which has excellent wet fastnesses.
