<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Lift mechanism for tipping trailers and the like".
The invention relates to a device for the upward movement, respectively lowering, of tipping trailers, in particular of the tipping body of such tipping trailers, with the aim of loosening these tipping trailers or bringing them into rice, respectively.
The lifting mechanism according to the invention has the great advantage that, compared to the existing lifting mechanisms for tipping buckets, it is extremely simple in construction.
Another advantage of the aforementioned lifting mechanism is that, by making use of a minimal number of elements, a very sturdy and stable construction is obtained.
Yet another advantage of this lifting device according to the present invention can be seen in the fact that, due to the simplicity of the device on the one hand and the minimal number of elements with which
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
on the other hand, this device is realized, the cost price is very favorably influenced and the operational reliability is maximally increased.
The lifting mechanism for tipping trailers and the like which exhibits the aforementioned and other advantages consists mainly in the combination of a lever which is pivotally connected to the actual tipping box at one end and of which the second end is free; a slide with which the aforementioned second free end of the lever can cooperate and a hydraulic damping force pivotally connected on the one hand to the vehicle frame and on the other to the aforementioned lever.
For the purpose of further demonstrating the particular features of the lifting mechanism according to the invention, a preferred embodiment is described below by way of example without any limiting character, with reference to the appended drawing, in which the lifting mechanism according to the invention is schematically shown in two positions, respectively in driving position and in release position.
In this drawing the driving position of the vehicle is shown in full line, while the unloading position of the device is shown in dotted dashed lines.
As shown in the accompanying drawing, the actual tipping box 1 is hingedly connected via a pivot to the
EMI2.1
vehicle body 2.
At a predetermined position with respect to the aforementioned turning point 2, the tipping box 1 is pivotally mounted via a spindle 4, a lever 2, the second free end of which is provided with a running wheel 6 that can move freely over the entire length or practically the entire length of a guide or slide 7, respectively, which in this case is inclined relative to the horizontal vehicle frame 1 and rests on supports 8-9, respectively, for this purpose.
In this embodiment the lever is 5. practically in the middle
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of its length, hingedly connected via a spindle 10 to the free end of the piston rod 11 of a hydraulic pressure cylinder 12.
The free end of the body of the hydraulic jack 12 is hingedly connected, via a spindle 12, and through an ear 14, to the aforementioned vehicle frame 3.
The operation of the described device is very simple and as follows.
When pressure is supplied to the hydraulic jack 12, the piston rod 11 will push on the lever 5 and thus, via the spindle 4, the actual tipping bucket 1 will move upwards around its turning point 2, whereby the lower free end of the lever 5, via the running wheel 6. , moves upwards over the sliding track and guide 1 respectively.
The gradual release of the aforementioned pressure will lower the tipping box 1, whereby the lever with its free end and by means of the track roller 6 moves down the track 1 until it has reached the position as in full line. shown in the accompanying drawing.
Due to the slope of the track 1, it is obtained that the total expansion of the hydraulic jack 12 can be smaller than if this track 1 were placed horizontally, in other words parallel to the vehicle frame 3.
However, nothing prevents this lane 1 from being horizontal.
In the foregoing description it is assumed that only one lever, per tipping box, is provided and, of course, only one slide 1 and one jack 12.
Nothing can be provided for two tracks 7 and a lever 5 for each track, these two levers being jointly connected to the spindle 4 and to the spindle 10, in other words to the hydraulic jack 12.
The hydraulic jack 12 can be provided both single-acting and double-acting.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
It is also self-evident that the spindle 10 can be arranged at any point of the lever 5, whereby this turning point 10, in a special embodiment, could even coincide with the axis of the running roller 6.
The aforementioned track roller 6 can suitably be replaced by a sliding piece or the like, whereby the guide or slide 7 can optionally be provided with means allowing the free end of the lever 2 to engage with this slide, in order to prevent undesired movement of the lever 2. and prevent the slide 7.
In the aforementioned embodiment, use is made of a hydraulic pressure cylinder as a jack, but nothing prevents the use of a pneumatic jack force.
In this way a very robust and sturdy lifting mechanism for tipping trailers and the like is obtained, wherein this lifting mechanism is designed with a minimum number of parts, is very simple and the cost price is thus very favorably influenced.
Finally, the aforementioned parts take up a minimum of space so that when the tipping trailer is in the driving position, the actual tipping box is only a short distance from the vehicle frame 3.
The lifting mechanism according to the invention is by no means limited to the embodiment described by way of example and shown in the accompanying drawing, but can be realized in all kinds of shapes and dimensions without departing from the scope of the invention. ** WARNING ** End of DESC field may contain beginning of CLMS field **.
