<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Figure 1 est une vue de face du dispositif d'enroulement avec son système de réglage;
Figure 2 représente le dispositif vu de coté.

"Device for the continuous winding of bands or ribbons".
The invention relates to a device for continuously winding / tapes on a reel forming a correct roll,
Strips of synthetic or other material, when wound on a mandrel, must
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
form a roll neither too tight nor too loose. This roll must not come undone and the layers already rolled up must not undergo subsequent traction, so as not to damage the bandea superficially,
In certain known devices, the bands are wound at constant traction or at constant torque. In the latter case, the traction of the roller decreases as its diameter increases. It is therefore not possible to pull the layers already rolled up afterwards, but the last layers of the roll are then too loose.
The constant traction winding allows a roll of uniform hardness to be obtained, but the layers already wound up undergo subsequent traction.
The invention enables a device to be produced which provides a favorable winding characteristic, in which the advantages of known winding modes are grouped.
The problem which arises is therefore to arrange the device in such a way that the winding characteristic represents a compromise between the winding with constant traction and the winding with constant torque.
This result is obtained in accordance with the invention by an oscillating roller, around which is applied the strip which is to be wound up and which is adjustable in position by means of a spring relative to a feeler system, which is connected , by means of a damping member and of a pneumatic amplifier, to an adjustment member or servomotor which varies the winding traction. The probe system is advantageously pneumatically operated and comprises a leakage nozzle combined with a pallet, the latter being arranged on the lever of the oscillating roller.
The device according to the invention provides the solution
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the problem of obtaining a winding traction that is all the smaller as the diameter of the roll which is formed is larger.
The spring force remains constant in the closed control circuit. The tension required for the winding must decrease as the diameter of the roller increases in order to maintain the balance of forces in the feeler system. The variation of the winding tension is ensured by a modification of the clamping pressure of the friction coupling on the forming roller.
While the characteristic of the winding traction decreases hyperbolically as a function of the diameter of the roller on the roller at constant torque, it remains constant /
In the device according to the invention, the characteristic curve of the winding traction lies between the two aforementioned characteristics and consequently represents a compromise between the two aforementioned winding modes.
Winding takes place in a closed control circuit. The web of material to be wound is continuously unwound by a system of rollers, when a driving torque is transmitted by the friction coupling to the winding roller. Before being wound up, the strip surrounds the oscillating roller which is held in a position determined by a spring, the force of which acts in antagonism to the winding tension.
The position of the oscillating roller is explored by a pneumatic probing system, the measured value being transmitted to an amplifier by means of a damping device, and compared with the reference value. The deviation @ uté 10 words existing between these two values is amplified and constituted the rouve:
@ modulated pressure, which acts on the servomotor, the lifting of which varies the application pressure of the coupling @ when winding is carried out at constant traction.

friction and, as a consequence, the torque transmitted to the winding roller. The windings obtained using the device according to the invention have an advantage over those given by the winding modes mentioned above, namely that the layers already wound up do not undergo subsequent traction and that the last layers of the roll are tight enough to enable the finished roll to be handled,
The winding device according to the invention radically eliminates any risk of scratching and of mechanical overloading of the wound material.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the appended drawing in which
Figure 1 is a front view of the winding device with its adjustment system;
Figure 2 shows the device seen from the side.
The device comprises a winding roller 8 on which the strip of material 1 is wound by means of an oscillating roller 2 held by a spring 3.
