<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Method and device for the transport of pulverulent materials by the pneumatic route II.,
The present invention relates to improvements to the method and apparatus for the transport of powdery and pulverized materials by pneumatic means,
There are already devices for transporting said materials using a porous bottom wall through which a gaseous fluid is blown, the wall being inclined to the gas current strong enough to allow the material to flow along this bottom wall, but these devices.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
These require large flow rates of gaseous fluid and such devices are not suitable for all materials.
The object of the present invention is to facilitate the flow of all kinds of materials with the minimum consumption of gaseous fluid.
The process consists of the use of two gas streams, one passing through the porous bottom wall, the other going directly to a mixing chamber where the material already fluid arrives, this second gas stream terminating the fluidization and ensuring the transport of the material.
The device essentially comprises a mixing chamber in which is arranged, .on the one hand, an orifice communicating the vessel containing the material and whose bottom wall is porous and through which a first gas stream blows, and on the other , part, one or more terminal orifices of a pipe carrying the second gas stream.
Other characteristics will emerge from the description which will follow and given solely by way of nonlimiting example of the invention, with reference to the appended drawings in which

This fabric is inclined towards a flow orifice 10 which opens automatically with the aid of a shut-off valve 11, this opening being able to be preset, in any case appropriate according to the concentration of the mixture desired in the li. - conveying line, - at 12 a general supply pipe for the gaseous fluid coming from a source (not shown), the fluid stream dividing into two parts, one part arriving directly at the bottom of the container through the pipe 13 - after pressure adjustment by valve 14, the other part

The operation is as follows:
The gaseous fluid inlets being closed, the material is introduced through the orifice 2 which is then open, the air being discharged through the orifice 6 which is also open.
When the container is full and the profile of the pile (visible in figure 1) reaches the level indicator 5 which in the example is paddle-wheeled. rotary, this gives a signal; The filling port 2 is closed using the automatic valve 3.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the transport operation can then begin by opening the valve (not shown) placed on the general pipe 12 coming from the source of gaseous fluid.
The gaseous fluid thus arrived via the two pipes 13 and 15; through the pipe 13, at the bottom of the container under the permeable fabric 9 which thus produces a pressure p1 which allows the passage of the fluid through the fabric and through the material located above the fabric, which material is. Thus fluidized, a pressure P2 prevailing above, 'Likewise gaseous fluid is brought through the pipe 15 at a pressure P to the mixing chamber 8, passing through the nozzles 17. In this chamber is thus realistically a pressure P2 lower than Pl like the rest above the heap of material.
The material outlet 11 is then open, the opening corresponding to the quantity of material to be transported on average per hour ;,
The pressure P2 being lower than the pressure P1, the material flows into the mixing chamber 8 and is then suffused by the nozzles 17 coming from the main pipe 15 which in the example is shown passing through. the can 1.
The material is thus sent to pipe 19.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
When the canister has emptied of material, the air inlet is closed and the entire discharge port is closed and the canister is ready to be refilled.
The valve 20 located at the door of the mixing chamber 8 makes it possible to isolate the piping of the canister for blowing out if necessary
It does not go beyond the scope of the invention if the equivalent means are used while retaining the principle of the process, that is to say the combination of two gas streams or the principle of the device comprising a chamber. mixture in which arrives the Dobby already fldiisé by the first gas stream and into which the second gas transport stream emerges, for example:
The material to be fludiized and transported can be any:
carbon, cement, plastics., mature soot catalyst from gas cleaning etc. It can be of density, granulomerism of any kind.
The gaseous fluid can be any, air carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, gas, etc., Le ±. gentle gas streams used may be of different nature ...
