<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to a push-button switch comprising a push-button, on which the action of a spring is exerted, and which mainly comprises a U-shaped body of revolution, an arrangement- rocker pivoting element, which is dependent on the push-button to take one of two stable positions, and an arrangement of contacts arranged to be closed, respectively open, depending on the position of the rocker arrangement . Pushbutton switches were already known in which, in order to transmit thrust pulses from the pushbutton to the rocker arrangement, there is, for example, a tongue movable around an axis.
This tongue is arranged to take one of two limit positions when the push-button is pressed. Instead of having this tongue, it is also known to give the spring which acts on the push-button, a shape such that the end of the metal wire at one end of the spring can, by lengthening and bending, be suitable for actuating the rocking arrangement.
These pushbutton switches and the like are, however, affected by certain drawbacks, while being of rather complicated construction, and their operation is never quite sure, together with electrically conductive details. are too easily accessible in the event of a button accident.
These inconveniences are eliminated by a push-button switch constructed according to the invention, characterized by a movable tab shaped as constituting a part of the push-button, coming from the bottom of the push-button, which tab is arranged in such a way. that when the push-button is lowered, it activates the rocker arrangement so that the arrangement

changes its stable position, going from the one it had at that moment to the other stable position, and by including in the arrangement of the contacts a long and narrow leaf spring fixed firmly at one of its ends and intended to fix the two stable positions of the rocker arrangement,
which leaf spring is arranged to receive the direct action of the rocker arrangement and to carry the movable contact part included in this contact.
The invention will be described in more detail with the aid of the accompanying drawing, which shows, in - Figure 1, an example of a button switch. push button according to the invention, in section, and in - Figure 2, only the push button forming part of said push button switch.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the base of the push button switch, which is advantageously made of soapstone.
The base 1 contains a rocker arrangement 6 movable around an axis, a contact spring 8 actuated by a coil spring 9 and fixed by a screw, and contact means 11 and 12 intended to cooperate with contact points 81 and 62, respectively, of the free edge of the movable contact spring 8.
The base 1 is covered with a cover plate 2, intended to be fixed by screws to a support disc. In the center of the cover plate 2 there is a circular hole for a push-button 4 on the water, which acts Spring 51, which push-button is a U-shaped body of revolution, from the bottom of which a tab leaves. mobile 41 forming part of the push-button, (see also FIG. 2), this tab, when the button is pressed, being able to actuate the ba.scule arrangement 6 comes out so that this arrangement passes from the stable position that he had at that moment (namely, with a flat adaptation surface 62 against the spring 8) towards the other stable nosition {with a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
flat adaptation surface 61 against the spring 8).
With the toggle arrangement 6 in the first position, the contact point 82 touches the contact piece 12, that is, a contact 12-82 is closed in a circuit which is established between the screw 7 and contact part 12 (this circuit is not shown in the drawing). With the toggle arrangement 6 in said other position, the contact point 81 touches the coatact piece 11, i.e. a contact 11-81 is closed in a circuit established between the screw 7 and the screw. contact piece 11 (circuit which is not shown in the drawing either).
With the push-button switch one thus obtains the closing, respectively the opening of a circuit in an electrical system by using one of the contacts 11-81 and 12-82, or else a switching is obtained in an electrical system. one and the same system using both contacts 11-81 and 12-82.
When the push-button is not actuated externally, it assumes the position shown in the drawing, i.e. it is pressed by the spring 5 by the rocker arrangement so that a circular bard 42 of the pushbutton comes into contact with the cover plate. The tab 42 then reaches its central position, that is to say that its direction passes through the axis around which the tilting arrangement 6 is movable. When pushing button 4 down, tab 41 pushes against an oblique edge of rocker arrangement 6 and slides along that edge to a limiting ridge which limits that edge and which intersects with it. stands at an angle of 90.
When the push button is continued to be depressed, the toggle arrangement is now actuated by tab 41 to rotate about its axis to its second stable position, at which spring 8 changes position. When the pressure from the outside on the push-button 4 ceases, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Pusher returns to its original position and tab 41 assumes its middle position.
When the push-button is pushed again, the mat pushes against a second edge of the rocker arrangement 6 and slides somewhat along this second edge (while at the same time being bent towards a second limiting edge which limit this second edge and yes is drawn up to 90), the rocker arrangement being forced by the tab to rotate around its axis to its original position, causing the spring 8 to change position as well.
As seen in Figure 1, the distance from the contact surface 82 to the center of the pivot axis is somewhat shorter than the distance from the contact surface 61 to the same center. The push button 4 is advantageously made of nylon or other material of similar properties.
