Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

-The slab is made of reinforced concrete elements of current composition and prefabricated in the factory.

The base profile is trapezoidal.! 3IOmm and 333mmo
The height "h" is variable according to the overloads to be supported and the spans to be crossed. In principle "h" varies from 8 to 15cm. the length "L" of the elements generally varies from 2 m to 5.50 m.

These elements are lightened by cylindrical voids
 EMI1.1
"b", the number and diameter of which vary according to the height "" ... achieved.

The diameter varies in principle from 4 to 8 cm.

The element comprises along the side walls and in principle every 75cm notches of shape and dimensions indicated in the plans.

The purpose of these notches is to allow and facilitate access to the reinforcement "e" provided in the joint of the elements and to ensure easy placement.

The reinforcement made up of steel round bars comprises: I) longitudinal tension bars "c", the number and diameters of which
 EMI1.2
 .,; r: (= 1: $ en: = anointing of the calculation.

  2) crossbars of distribution "d" of 5 or 6 mm in diameter, welded or tied to the previous ones and arranged in principle every
35 cm. They are profiled as indicated on the plans. They are provided with hooks to receive a bar 'of 6.8 or 10 mm "e" which ensures the connection between the elements.

After joint installation of the elements., And after having previously slipped and fixed the reinforcement "e", the triangular and circular voids "a" left between two consecutive elements, as well as the aforementioned notches are filled with a concrete for reinforced concrete of well-defined composition, so as to fill the void perfectly and coat the framework well.

The circular part of the seal is not necessarily of the same diameter as that of the internal cylindrical voids of the element.

   Distinctive characters.

   1) Presence of a transverse reinforcement linked from element to element and which constitutes chaining thus achieving better resistance against cracking.

   2) The shape of the joint between two elements and its easily flowing filling, achieve excellent bonding, better solidarity of the elements between them and of the whole of the slab. Strength increased by the presence of the transverse reinforcement.

   3) In common cases of slab construction, there is no longer any need to grout the lower part of the slab before pouring the joints. Which is a great advantage.

     4) Handling and installation made easier and easier thanks to the presence of the end hooks of the transverse reinforcement. The same is true of the shape of the joint.
