<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Dans les dessins annexés donnés uniquement à titre d'exemple : - la figure 1 montre en détail et en coupe axiale une pompe à corps cylindriques munis de filets de vis de même sens ; - la figure 2 est une coupe suivant la ligne II-II de la figure 1; - la figure 3 montre en détail et en coupe axiale une pompe dans laquelle les corps cylindriques sont munis de filets de vis doubles à pas inversés;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

The object of the present invention is essentially a positive displacement sliding pump.
This pump is of the type which comprises a first cylindrical body forming a screw housed with a certain radial play inside a second cylindrical body forming a nut so as to leave between said bodies one or more helical annular spaces bordered laterally by the flanks. screw threads or the like of said bodies, and means for driving said bodies in relative movement with respect to each other such that the outer surface of the screw dorps slides over the inner surface of the nut body and that its axis envelops a surface whose axis coincides with that of the inner surface of the body forming a nut,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
said annular space or spaces communicating with suitably arranged suction and delivery conduits for the pumped fluid.
The surfaces of the aforementioned cylindrical bodies which slide over each other may or may not be of revolution, and have circular, oval, elliptical, etc. radial sections, etc. The movement in which the two cylindrical bodies slide l With respect to each other, closed curves are described at the centers of the cross sections of the screw body with their centers located on the axis of the nut body.
The pump according to the invention is remarkable in particular in that the body forming a screw is made of an elastically deformable material and is extended at least on one side by a part forming a sealing sleeve designed to protect the drive means from the fluid. of said screw body.
This arrangement makes it possible to effectively protect the drive members of the rotating cylindrical body against any infiltration of the pumped liquid.
Other characteristics of the invention will become apparent during the description which follows.
In the accompanying drawings, given solely by way of example: - Figure 1 shows in detail and in axial section a pump with a cylindrical body provided with screw threads in the same direction; - Figure 2 is a section along the line II-II of Figure 1; - Figure 3 shows in detail and in axial section a pump in which the cylindrical bodies are provided with double screw threads with reverse pitch;
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- Figure 4 is a cross sectional half along the line IV-IV of Figure 3; - Figure 5 is an axial half-section along the line V-V of Figure 3.
There is shown in Figures 1 and 2 an embodiment of a pump according to the invention. This pump comprises a hollow body 2 constituting the casing of the assembly and having an inner surface of cylindrical shape, for example of revolution, provided internally with a double screw thread 11 with right-hand pitch. In the internal volume of the body 2 is screwed the cylindrical body forming a screw 1 with a slightly smaller diameter and provided on its outer surface with the same thread as the body 2.
The cylindrical bodies 1 and 2 can both be of elastically deformable material, rubber, synthetic material, etc., one of these two bodies can also be rigid, the other being elastically deformable. It is also possible simply to provide on the threaded surface of one of the two members a surface layer of elastically deformable material.
In the example shown in Figures 1 and 2, it will be assumed that the body 2 is made of a rigid synthetic material, while the body 1 is made of rubber or the like.
Inside the body 1 is fitted a blind bush 12 concentric with the interior housing of the body 1 and in which a drive member, cylinder or the like 13 mounted eccentrically on a drive shaft 14, journals. The axis of the shaft 14 coincides with the xy axis of the body, 2, while the axis of the motor member 13 coincides with the axis vw of the cylindrical body 1, the offset between these two axes E corresponding to the eccentricity necessary for operation of the set according to the principle explained above.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The cylindrical carp 2 is closed at one of its cr @@@ mités @ by a flange 15 fixed to a flange or the like 16 of the body 2, for example by bolts 17 and comprising a central tubular member 18 to the interior of which are housed bearings 19 and 20 so as to thus form a bearing for the motor shaft 14. At its end situated towards the inside of the body 2, the tubular member 18 has a radial face 21 provided with a orifice 22 crossed by the shaft 14. A ring or the like 23 is interposed between the sleeve 12 and this face 21 in order to prevent any rotation of this sleeve 12, and consequently of the cylindrical body 1 in which it is fitted. force, around the axis vw.
For this purpose, this ring or washer 22 has two lateral protrusions 24 and 24 'which engage and slide in a groove 25 provided in the radial face 21 of the tubular body 18 of the flange 15 and two other protruding parts 26 and 26 'arranged at right angles to the projections 24 and 24' and engaging in a groove 27 provided at the end of the sleeve 12. It can be seen that the two slides thus formed allow the whole of the cylindrical body 1 and of the sleeve 12 to move radially with respect to the xy axis while being immobilized in rotation with respect to the axis vw.
The cylindrical body 1 is extended at one of its ends towards the inside of the casing 2 by a deformable sleeve or the like 28 which fits at its end on the tubular body 18 of the flange 15 by means for example of a heel. or the like 29 providing the seal between these two parts.
The body is provided on one side with a suction port 30 and at its other end with an exhaust port 31. These ports are intended to be connected
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
to the pumped fluid circuit. This fluid entering through @ the orifice 30 fills the annular space 31 surrounding the sleeve 28 then enters at 32 the annular space created between the screw threads of the two cylindrical bodies during the sliding of the screw 1 in the body 2 forming nut to be finally pushed back into 33 and escape through orifice 31.
It can be seen that during this journey the fluid is absolutely isolated by the sleeve 28 from the zone of the apparatus where the mechanical members sliding the body 1 are located. In this way, a pump is produced which does not include any of the components. packing systems, stuffing boxes or the like which are usually provided on conventional rotary volumetric or centrifugal pumps.
Furthermore, this sleeve 28 is subjected to relatively low stresses given that it is placed on the suction side and that it is subjected on its internal surface, in the case of a maximum suction height, only the stress resulting from atmospheric pressure. Therefore, its fatigue does not depend on the discharge pressure.
In the case of FIGS. 3 and 4, the pump shown differs from the previous one in that the body -1 constitutes a double screw with reversed threads.
The body inside which this screw 1 slides is formed of two parts 2a and 2b fitting into each other and provided internally with screw threads in the same direction as the threads of the body parts 1 located opposite. The screw 1, for example of deformable material, comes directly from molding with a metal inner sleeve 34 in which the organ is journaled.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
motor 13; the motor shaft 14 passes through the body 1 from one end to the other, its two ends being carried by two bearings 35 and 35 'housed in two closing flanges 36 and 36' forming a bearing. The flange 36 'is attached directly to one end of the cylindrical body 2a while the flange 36 is fixed to an intermediate flange 37 attached to the body 2b.
The screw 1 is provided at each of its ends with two tubular sleeves 28a and 28b, the heels 29a and 29b of which are clamped in a sealed manner, the first between the body 2a and the flange 36 'and the second between the flanges 36 and 37.
A ring 23 similar to that seen above is interposed between the sleeve 34 and the bearing 36 so as to prevent any rotation of the sleeve 34 and of the screw 1 about their axis v-w.
The body 2a is pierced for example at its lower part with a suction orifice 38 which opens into two interior housings forming lateral openings 39 and 39 'which communicate with the threaded and engaged peripheral parts of the body 1 and of the two. body 2a and 2b.
In addition, the body 2a has a central circular groove 40 communicating on the one hand with the peripheral part of the engaged threads of the bodies 1, 2a and 2b and on the other hand with a delivery orifice 40 provided in the upper part of the body. body 2a. When the shaft 4 turns in the direction of the arrow G, the two opposite threads of the screw 1 suck the fluid through the openings 39 and 39 'and discharge it centrally into the annular space 40. This type of pump double thread present on the pump shown in Figures 1 and 2 the advantage of balancing the longitudinal thrusts exerted on the screw 1 by the discharge pressure.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
Naturally, one can envisage different models of pumps deriving from the two types previously described and comprising single or multiple screw threads, with a square, rectangular, trapezoidal profile, etc. It is also possible to provide in the same pump several threaded parts in number greater than two, with reversed threads and contiguous as in the case of the pump shown in Figures 3 .à; 5.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and shown which have only been given as an example.
