Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fertilizer product for agriculture and manufacturing process.
The present invention relates to a fertilizer product for agriculture and its object is to provide the soil fertilization with both nitric nitrogen, lime, magnesia and trace elements. .
It is essentially characterized in that it is obtained by the neutralization of dolomite by means of nitric acid.
Dolomite is a magnesium carbonate lime constituting natural rocky deposits with a density of 2.7 to 3%, generally in coarse and compact masses, sometimes in rhomboidal form of medium composition.
44 to 48% of CO2 28 to 32% of Ca 0 19 to 28% of Mg 0
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
1 to 3% Si 0 2 traces of iron, manganese and organic matter.
As an example, use was made of a medium dolo- mitic rock of composition:
47% CO2 30% Ca 0
21% Mg 0
2% Miscellaneous.
For the production, 100 parts by weight of 36 Bé nitric acid are introduced into a moving mixer, and 39. 28 parts of dolomite are gradually poured into this acid.
The dolomite will preferably be ground to a size of 0 to 1 mm; calibration is not essential, but the reaction is faster the greater the fineness.
The amount of acid to be discharged will obviously vary depending on the density.
A release of CO2 will be instantly established with the formation of foam; the faster the dolomite will be.
The foams will be all the more abundant the finer the dolomite. This is why it is in the interest of limiting the fineness of the dolomite, even if it means extending the duration of the release but on the other hand shortening the time for the disappearance of the foams.
When the release is complete, a pasty liquor is obtained holding 45.10% of water which, by evaporation-drying, gives a product which can be used as a fertilizer.
According to one or the other customary means which is employed for removing water, this fertilizer product is present either in crystalline form or in amorphous form, the latter form possibly being powdery or granulated.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In the case of medium dolomitic rock having medium characteristics:
47% CO2- 30% Ca 0 - 21% Mg 0 - 2% Miscellaneous the product produced in the state of absolute dryness, which will not necessarily be essential, will have the following fertilizing contents:
Nitric nitrogen 17.47%
Combined lime 17.73%
Combined magnesia: 12.42%
Trace elements: small amounts.
The final product can be used in crystalline or granulated powdery form and brought to soil fertilization with nitric nitrogen, lime, magnesia and trace elements.
