Les ballons de jeu ou de sport peuvent être constitués par une série de panneaux de cuir réunis par couture de façon à former une en- veloppe externe de protection dans laquelle se trouve une chambre à air que l'on gonfle.
Suivant un autre mode de fabrication, l'enveloppe de protection est obtenue par moulage sur une chambre à air récupérable ou non c'est-à- dire que par moulage on forme une carcasse en matière textile que l'on enrobe de caoutchouc. Cette carcasse est pourvue sur sa surface externe de nervures limitant les espaces qui seront occupés par les panneaux de cuir ou de matière constituant le revêtement extérieur de l'enveloppe.
Dans les ballons dont l'enveloppe est formée de panneaux cousus, il arrive que la couture cède étant donné qu'elle est soumise aux intempé- ries et à l'usure par frottement. Les ballons moulés connus actuellement ne présentent pas cet inconvénient mais, par contre, les panneaux peuvent se détacher par suite des sollicitations dont ils sont l'objet surtout sur leur pourtour; les bords externes des divers panneaux venant seulement en contact avec les nervures peuvent être accrochés accidentellement et soulevés ce qui a, entre autres, pour résultat de permettre les infiltra- tions d'eau.
La présente invention se rapporteàun ballon de sport ou de jeu dont l'enveloppe de protection obtenue par moulage, est constituée par une carcasse de fibres naturelles ou synthétiques enrobée de gomme ou autre matière moulable et dont la surface externe est munie de moyens d'accro- chage des bords des panneaux de cuir ou d'autre matière semblable.formant le recouvrement extérieur.
Suivant un mode préférentiel d'exécution, la surface externe de la carcasse réalisée par moulage sur une chambre à air, récupérable ou non, est garnie d'un réseau de rainures d'accrochage venant directement de moulage; dans ces rainures, limitant la grandeur des divers panneaux de recouvrement, viennent se loger, côté à côté, les bords des panneaux adjacents recourbés vers l'intérieur du ballon. Les rainures d'accrochage et de séparation des panneaux peuvent avoir une forme quelconque; elles peuvent, par exemple, avoir une section transversale droite rectangulaire, en forme de V, ou encore en queue d'aronde, etc... suivant les nécessités de l'assemblage et de la présentation.
D'autres particularités pourront apparaître dans la description suivante des dessins annexés qui montrent, à titre illustratif seulement, un mode de réalisation de l'invention.
La figure 1 est une vue schématique, en perspective, de la car- casse d'un ballon exécutée suivant l'invention.
La figure 2 est une vue partielle en perspective d'une portion de l'enveloppe terminée.
Par l'un ou l'autre des procédés de moulage de ballons actuelle- ment connus on fabrique une carcasse telle que 2 dont la surface externe est recouverte d'un réseau de rainures 2a en correspondance avec la forme adoptée pour les panneaux de recouvrement.
La figure 1 montre un ballon à dix-huit panneaux. Les rainures, obtenues en prévoyant des nervures correspondantes sur la surface interne du moule employé pour la fabrication, ont, dans le cas représenté, une section transversale droite rectangulaire.
Par la figure 2 on voit que la carcasse 2 est ensuite recouverte de panneaux collés 3 en cuir ou autre matière semblable; les bords tels

que 3a des panneaux adjacents sont recourbés vers l'intérieur et logés, côté à côté, dans les rainures 2a et éventuellement maintenus par collage ou de toute autre manière connue, par exemple, par vulcanisation. Un ballon de jeu ou de sport réalisé suivant l'invention présentant l'aspect d'un ballon cousu, maintient un assemblage parfait des divers panneaux entre eux, dont les bords sont soustraits aux frottements et accrochages éventuels.
REVENDICATIONS.
1. Ballon de jeu ou de sport dont l'enveloppe de protection com- porte une carcasse obtenue par moulage et recouverte de panneaux, carac- térisé en ce que la surface externe de la dite carcasse est munie-de moyens d'accrochage des bords des panneaux de recouvrement.
