<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a three or four-way spool valve which can be used for controlling devices actuated by compressed air.
Control distributors of this type are constituted, as is known, by a cylinder in which a piston or slide operated by hand moves through a slot made in the wall of the cylinder and allowing the passage of the pressurized fluid towards the cylinder. '' outlet or
Interrupting this passage. For the operation of control valves of this type to be flawless, the spool, which must be ground or polished, must be fitted in the cylinder to ensure a good seal. This assembly, which requires the greatest precision and the greatest care in execution, increases the cost price of these distributors to such an extent that they are not economical in relation to their useful life.
The object of the invention is to allow the production of a multi-channel distributor of a low price and no longer having the drawbacks resulting from difficult actuation or from a reduction in its tightness.
In accordance with the invention, this result is obtained with three- or four-way distributors by means of a double-acting piston or slide with faces formed by an elastic sealing material, mounted in a cylinder having orifices of radial passages for compressed air Apart from the work of mounting the sealing material, it is no longer necessary in the distributor according to the invention to rectify or adjust the slide, and a durable seal is obtained without risk of wear of the piston thanks to the advantage that one draws from the well-known sealing qualities of the elastic sealing material.
It is true that an elastic sealing material has already been used in the hydraulic actuators of vehicles, but not in compressed air distributors, in which the operating and sealing conditions are different from those. hydraulic control units.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of non-limiting example, shows several embodiments of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view of a four-way spool valve.
Fig. 2 is a similar view of a three-way distributor.
Fig 3 is a similar view of a three or four flight dispenser.
Fig 4 is a similar view of an alternative three or four way distributor.
The four-flight spool valve shown in figure 1 comprises a cylinder or plug 1 and a double-acting piston or spool 2 with sealing faces 3, 4. These sealing faces 3, 4 form part of the cylindrical wall of the valve. cylinder 1 an annular space 5 sealed with respect to the other chambers of the cylinder by sleeves 6, 7 of resilient sealing material in the form of caps arranged on the sealing faces. The arrangement of the sleeves 6, 7 is such that their open sides are oriented towards one another, therefore towards the inlet orifice 8 of the pressurized fluid provided in the plug 1.
In addition to the inlet orifice 8, the bowl has outlet orifices 9, 10 for the pressurized fluid, which are in communication with the annular space 5 by the intermediary of slots 11, 12 extending radially in the cylinder wall. In addition it is provided in the cylinder 1, on each side of the outlet orifices 9, 10 of the orifices 13, 14 which serve for the deaeration of the corresponding chamber of this cylinder 1. The double-acting spool 2 is extended by a
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
side by a shaft end 15 and is articulated on a lever 16 pivotally mounted in a nut 17 inside the cylinder 1.
The actuation of the lever 16 produces the movement in a reciprocating movement of the double-acting spool 2. Au. during this movement the spool selectively passes in front of the slots 11, 12 and consequently adjusts the outlet of the pressurized fluid from the space 5 to the outlet orifices 9, 10. In the position which is shown the sealing sleeve 7 of the spool 2 is placed between the ports 11, 12 so that the pressurized fluid can pass freely, through the ports 11, from the space 5 to the outlet 9 and then from there to the outlet. device ordered.
By pivoting the lever 16, the drawer 2 can be brought to another position in which the sealing sleeve 6 is placed between the slots 11, 12, the pressurized fluid passing through the slots 12 of the space 5 towards the 'outlet 10 and to another device or to the same device, but then to move it in another direction In the position shown, the outlet 10 is purged or deaerated through bore 14,
The three-way piston distributor shown in FIG. 2 is constructed in the same way as that which has just been described.
It differs from it simply by the fact that there is provided for the fluid under pressure a single outlet port 18 and openings 19, so that, apart from the position shown in which the inlet port 8 is in communication through the space 5 and the slots 19 with the outlet orifice 18, this distributor can only take the position in which the drawer 2 covers the slots 19 by its sleeve 6, on the other side of the cylinder, preventing the pressurized fluid to reach the outlet or else the position in which, after having passed these openings, it brings them to the atmosphere through the bore 20.
As shown in Figure 3, it is possible to control the movements of the double-acting drawer against the action of devices such as springs 21, 22 of equal force, which automatically return the drawer to its starting position. moved to one side using lever 16.
Another embodiment comprising an automatic report of the double-acting spool 2 towards its starting position is shown in figure 4. In this example .. the open sides of the sleeves 6, 7 of the spool 2 are facing away from it. 'one from the other and the inlet orifices 23, 24 of the pressurized fluid are provided opposite the faces 3, 4 of the piston, these orifices having a section smaller than that of the outlet openings 11, 12. It s' follows. ,, in the position shown, a pressure drop on the face 4 of the slide as a result of the continual release of pressurized fluid through the larger orifice 12, the pressure balance between the two sealing surfaces 3, 4 being realized by the fact that.,
when the lever 16 is free, the drawer 2 moves to the right until the ports 12 and therefore the orifice 10 are closed. The distance separating the sealing faces 3, 4 is calculated so that, in this position of the spool 2, the other outlet port 9 is also closed. According to this embodiment. \} The lever 16 is rationally mounted on the middle of cylinder 1a This arrangement, used in this example for a four-way distributor, can naturally be used as well for a three-way distributor.
The construction details can be changed without departing from the invention, in the field of technical equivalences.
