<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
languettes.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
adjacent.

In the various figures, the same reference notations designate identical or similar elements.
The invention relates to a loom blade, provided with systems for retaining the ends of heald-carrying rods in ad hoc housings presented by its uprights.
The arrangements according to the invention consist of a system consisting of a pair of parallel tongues 1 which are adapted in the angle formed by a batten 2 and an upright 3. These two tongues 1 are spaced apart and extend to be astride. on the neighboring end 4 of a heald-carrying rod 5, the ends of which engage in housings 10 which respectively present the uprights 3. They are arranged to support an elastic member 6. The elastic member 6 is shaped into a stirrup which is rotatably mounted about an axis transverse to the tongues 1, close to the apex of the angle of the batten and the upright 3 considered.
The stirrup 6 is made, for example, of a piece of metal wire, the ends 12 of which are curved to be held respectively by the tongues l, being engaged in hollows made for this purpose in these
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
tabs. The branches 8 of the stirrup 6 are folded back towards the neighboring upright 3 to bring back the bar 9 which unites them, opposite a housing 10 provided in this upright. The bar 9 thus comes to be placed in a vacuum 7 provided in the tongues in question. Due to the elasticity of the stirrup 6, the bar 9 is liable to exert pressure on one end
4 of a heald-carrying rod 5, the end of which is inserted into the housing 10. This end is thus held in place.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, the vacuum 7 is created by similar cutouts made in the two tabs 1. These cutouts develop towards the batten 2 while widening to present beyond the rod 5 in question, notches
11, The latter are provided to retain the bar 9, when it is pushed therein in order to withdraw said rod from its housing 10.
To place a heald-carrying trignel, its two housings 10 may be released by acting on the corresponding brackets 6 to push their bars 9 into the corresponding notches 11. The ends of the rod 5 are then introduced into the housings 10 and the bars
9, released from the notches 11 by acting on the brackets 6. The bars 9 come to rest on the ends of the rod 5 which they hold in place. To remove rod 5, proceed in reverse
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the tabs 1 terminate in tabs opposite the apex of the angle in which they are included. This arrangement facilitates the maneuvering of the stirrups 6, which is particularly easy when acting on the elbows of their branches 8.
Figures 1 to 3 illustrate the system according to the invention. suitable for a generally arbitrary blade. In this embodiment, the tongues 1 are the wings of a U-shaped part, the cross member 13 of which is extended by an appendage 14. The cross member 13 is applied to the inner face of an upright 3 to which it is fixed. Preferably, the appendix 14 has a longitudinal slot which constitutes a housing 10.
FIGS. 4 to 6, on the one hand, and 7 to 9, on the other hand, respectively illustrate a strip in which the battens 2 are I-sections having large flanges shaped as slides 15. The shelves 2 are assembled to uprights 3 which are each formed, for example, of a pair of twinned metal strips 16 with the interposition of a wooden sleeve and each end of which is lined with a socket 17 carrying ears for the 'assembly at the end of a batten 2. A pair of ears 18 is provided to enclose the soul of a batten, to which it is attached. A pair of ears 19 is arranged to be engaged in the groove of the lower slide 15 and to be secured thereto. The described blade is particularly suitable for the arrangement of systems according to the invention.
It suffices, in fact, to provide an extension of each ear 19, to form a tongue 6. In addition, the housings 10 may be longitudinal slots formed in the internal strips 16 of the uprights 3.
In the slats illustrated respectively by FIGS. 1 to 3, on the one hand, and 4 to 6, on the other hand, each stirrup 6 is arranged to frame the tabs 1 which support it. The curved ends 12 of its branches 8 are engaged in s holes made for this purpose in the s tabs 1. Furthermore, the bodies of the latter are optionally tightened (Figures 4 to 6) to avoid any protrusion of the adjacent upright 3 , depending on the thickness of the latter, by the new system. In other words, the branches 8 of each bracket 6 do not extend beyond the thickness of the neighboring upright 3.
. In the blade illustrated in Figures 7 to 9, each bracket 6 is housed in the gap between the tabs 1 which support it.
These tabs 1 are adapted so as not to exceed the thickness of the upright 3
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
adjacent. In addition, the parts of s tabs 11, adjacent to this upright 3 are tightened to ensure the lateral emergence of the bar 9 as well as the adjoining ends of the branches 8, of the void 7. In addition, this void 7 is completed by notches 20 and 21, adjacent to the associated upright 3 and formed in each tab 1. These notches 20 and 21 are located on either side of the notches 11 to retain the caliper 6 while keeping it under tension.
To this end, the curved ends 12 of the branches 8 are engaged in the notches 20 close to the neighboring batten 2 while the bar 9 is capable of being engaged in the other notches 21, the branches 8 being, where appropriate, curved in result . The embodiment under consideration is particularly suitable for looms blades which include a large number of them, arranged called side by side. The arrangements described in fact offer the advantage of preventing any risk of catching blades coming into contact.
Thanks to the system according to the invention, the fixing of the heald support rods and their release are simple and easy. The new system eliminates, in this regard, the drawbacks of loom blades, permanently assembled,
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described above and that many modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the present patent application.
One could, in particular, mount the calipers on axes of rotation carried by the s tongue s.
