PERFECTIONNEMENTÇAUX MECHES ET AUTRES OUTILS DE COUPE A CONDUITE D'HUILE
INTERIEURE A CHAQUE LEVREo

DRILLS AND OTHER OIL LINE CUTTING TOOLS
INSIDE EACH LEVREo
Drill bits and other similar cutting tools are known in which the oil is supplied by means of either a hole drilled axially along the length of the tool, or of pipes applied by welding in previously traced grooves. . But, in the first case, one causes a torsion of the bit or of the tool which can lead to the work hardening of the material, which is almost always high speed steel, and in the second case the pipes risk collapsing. detach for use.
To overcome these drawbacks, the invention provides for crimping, hot or cold, as the case may be, a metal tongue in grooves equal to the number of teeth or to the number of lips of the tool provided in an adequate manner. in the direction of the propeller.
According to a preferred embodiment, in this metal tongue is produced by milling, for example a half-round or equivalent duct intended to coincide with a corresponding duct made in the helix of the tool, these two ducts delivering thus switch to oil.
The drawing appended to this specification represents, by way of example only, in:
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a bit according to the invention, and in FIG. 2 a section on a larger scale along II-II of FIG. 1.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, 1 denotes the tail of a bit with two lips perforated with a hole 2. 3 and 4 denote the two helices in which a groove 5 is respectively made. In each of these grooves 5 is crimped, hot or cold, a metal tab 6; on the internal base face is milled a notch 7 in a half-round for example, to which corresponds in the groove 5 a notch 8 of the same section.
By the coincidence of these two longitudinal notches 7 and 8, there is thus obtained in each helix of the wick, a duct which, at its part

upper, communicates with a suitable channel 9 drilled longitudinally in the body of the bit from the bottom of its hole 2, and at its lower part opens outwardly into each lip. As a result, the lubricating oil introduced into the hole 2 of the drill bit is brought through these conduits- 7, 8 to the working point of the tool.
In the case of bits and other cutting tools of sufficient cross-section, it would obviously be possible to form the oil channel with a longitudinal notch provided only in the tongue.
CLAIMS.
1.- Drill bits and other cutting tools with an oil duct provided in grooves made in the helices of the tool, characterized in that in each of these grooves is crimped, cold or hot, a metal tongue notched longitudinally on its internal base face to form with a corresponding notch milled in the bottom of the groove an oil pipe.
