   La présente invention est relative à un perfectionnement au procédé de congélation utilisé notamment pour le creusement de puits et excavations en terrains aquifères. 



   Il est un procédé connu par lequel la congélation des terrains est obtenue par une circulation dans le sol   d'un   liquide refroidi artifi- ciellement. Ce liquide descend par un tube central, dit tube de descente, dans une série de sondages disposés autour de   1-excavation   à creuser. Le liquide remonte ensuite dans l'espace annulaire formé par ce tube central et le tube extérieur dit tube congélateur. Dans le dispositif   actuel-;   ces deux tubes sont métalliques. De ce fait, au cours de sa descente dans le tube central, le liquide froid se réchauffe par l'apport de calories des terrains environnants à travers les parois du système tubulaire métallique, bon conducteur de chaleur.

   Or, il est désirable que le liquide arrive au fond des sondages aussi froid que possible afin que l'apport maximum de frigories se fasse à la base du massif à congeler où la température des terrains est la plus élevée. 



   L'invention a pour but d'apporter un nouveau moyen permettant l'arrivée du liquide aussi froid que possible au fond des sondages. 



   A cet effet, suivant l'invention, ledit tube central comprend un matériau pratiquement imperméable à la chaleur, tel que les matières plastiques, ou matières similaires en ce qui concerne la transmission de la chaleur. 



   Suivant un mode de réalisation particulier, le tube central est constitué en un matériau métallique revêtu intérieurement et/ou extérieu- rement par un matériau pratiquement imperméable à la chaleur, de manière à réduire dans une très grande mesure la transmission de la chaleur à tra- vers ce tube. 



   Le dispositif nouveau préconisé ici consiste donc en un sys-

   1. Système de colonnes de congélation de terrains, comprenant essentiellement un tube central, dit tube de descente, et un tube extérieur au précédent,dit tube congélateur, de manière à réaliser un espace annu- laire entre lesdits tubes, caractérisé en ce que ledit tube central com- prend un matériau pratiquement imperméable à la chaleur, tel que les ma- tières plastiques ou matières similaires en ce qui concerne la transmission de la chaleur.
