VALVE LESSIVEUSE.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

LAUNDRY VALVE.
Description A propeller with one or more poles or a turbine with vertical or horizontal blades "or buckets" o (1)
A turbine or pump body., Having on the water inlet side a recess intended to receive a perforated disc with round holes or any shape, and also a sector integral with the bodies obstruct part of the surface of 1? opening, at the other end of the body an evacuation and pipe chamber. (2)
The perforated disc rotates in a notch or borrowed so that the laundry does not get caught between the disc and the wall of the pump. (3) '
A shaft on which the disc is fixed has one end and the other end, the drive pulley (6) between the two is fixed the propeller the rotating shaft in a bearing.
(4)
A bearing intended to receive the shaft and to fix the body of the turbine or pump. (5) Operation o With the pump or turbine in action, water is sucked through the perforated disc "which also rotates", thus creating a suction; the water is discharged through a channel or pipe in front of the appliance. It is thus that immediately there is created a well-defined movement of water of discharge on the one hand and suction on the other hand, of suction in the direction of the perforated disc and of discharge starting from the disc, part blocked up to the blank on the opposite side of the tank.
The laundry thus being in the current follows the movement of the water until it is sucked by the perforated disc and in contact with it.
If the disc was not blocked on part of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
on its surface the linen would remain stuck and a ball of linen would be formed immediately attracted just as an electromagnet would attract iron lying in its magnetic field.
I will therefore say that per revolution of the disc there is a working cycle, i.e. a suction followed by a stop at the suction synchronized with the propeller of the turbine which delivers with pressure the water which forms the violent current in which the linen is immersed at each turn of the disc after having been sucked by it, finds the force sufficient for the centrifugal force.
The dirt on the laundry is therefore sucked up and carried away by the stream of soapy water which has passed through the laundry in engagement with the disc, i.e. for 2/3 turns during the third third of a turn being thus projected into the delivery stream by centrifugal force - because of the stop of suction caused by the obstruction of a part of the disc with a solid sector integral and fixed to the pump.
Additional appliance is attached to the washing valve intended for washing very light and delicate laundry and for spinning and rinsing. (Indicate in phantom).
Operation and description This device is made of sheet metal, a collar provided with a rubber gasket allows sealing on the collar, a pipe is fixed, this one connects a tank with a perforated bottom located below the water level. cover with gasket forms the seal of the tank.
For washing delicate laundry, fill the tank by means of a water intake located on the delivery chamber, spray the laundry with a hose. This creates a circulation of water which constantly flows through the laundry as a result of the washing. suction from below caused by the pump.
If the flow is stopped by means of a tap and a cover is placed to make the tank watertight, the continuous suction, the water in the pipe being pumped downwards, creating a vacuum in the tank, thus wring out the contents of the tank.
The washing of the laundry can be carried out as in the first washing operation followed by spinning.
I reserve the right 1) To place the appliance on any side of the tank, including the bottom in a tank of any shape even on a corner of a square tank.
2) In general my principle is therefore to wash by suction through a perforated and partially blocked disc, whether it is therefore at the front or at the rear of the disc or at the front or at the back of the pump that the obstruction occurs, I reserve the right.
3) The principle of wringing and washing by means of the additional appliance drawn in phantom may not be my invention but the adaptation to the laundry is there I will therefore reserve the right to Laundry.
4) In general for the whole and in particular for each of the essential parts.
A competitor could therefore not use my principle by changing one or the other part of the device.
5) Examples a) Place the device on the bottom of a tank; 1-The wringing machine will therefore be straight with a straight pipe. b) Or 1? spinning could be done by plugging the tank or reservoir into the perforated plate, the latter by turning would cause
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
therefore the reservoir and would become a centrifugal wringer provided that the reservoir is perforated on the outer wall.
6) The request for obtaining the patent is made for Belgium and
France.
Improvement supplement per part (1) according to sketch plan 2.
Operation This part in which the propeller is internally integral is provided with a boss which obstructs holes on the circumference of the fixed crown of the turbine body (b).
When the holes are not in front of the boss, there is aspiration because the laundry will stick together while the disc is dragging the laundry; the laundry will therefore tighten and the water will pass more easily until the boss clogs and cuts off the suction.
Filter (C) The water can be filtered from time to time by means of the filters (f), are movable they can be slipped into the pipe and subsequently removed. In appendix 2 drawings.
