MEMBRANE A SOUPAPE CONVENANT PARTICULIEREMENT POUR'MESUREURS'DE COURANTS
PARTIELS.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

VALVE DIAPHRAGM SUITABLE PARTICULARLY FOR CURRENT MEASURERS
PARTIAL.
The invention relates to membranes according to the main patent, intended for measuring and regulating devices, particularly for partial current meters, and aims to improve these membranes so that they do not deform. .when they are fixed in their housing and, in this way, during use, a complete application on the valve seat is ensured.
The drawing shows in section an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention.
The actual membrane 11 consists of a flaccid substance, that is to say which does not present any. noticeable flexural strength within the limits of its use, such as rubber, guttapercha or the like, and in the center forms a two-sided coating for a metal reinforcing plate 12. On the outside of the plate 12, these two coatings which for safety purposes can be adhered to the plate 12 are melted into a whole by vulcanization. In view of an intimate connection in the area of the plate 12, the notch 13 is additionally used. The valve body is denoted by 14. This construction mode is now further improved as follows.
On the annular part, having a suitable width, disposed on the outside of the reinforcement 12, connects outwardly a reinforcement which is also undetachable without destroying the membrane. It consists of a flange 16 provided on at least one side of the membrane. the membrane, the loose end 17 of which is directed towards the center of the membrane and which is disposed at such a distance from the membrane that the pressurized agent can penetrate between the membrane and the rim. The section of the rims tapers towards their free end 17 and when the membrane is not fixed in its housing or the like, the free end of the rim is only slightly folded outwards.
The membrane is placed between two housing parts
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
18 and 19 in such a way that an annular slot 20 of clearly defined width is formed between them, so that the rim, or in the case of symmetrical arrangement, the rims, cannot be compressed. one on the other when they are fixed at their free end only to a well determined extent, so that only a slight pressure is exerted on them and that the membrane does not deform as a result. The pressure by which the free end of the flanges rests against the housing parts 18 and 19 is then increased by the pressurized agent.
This mounting pressure can be increased by creating a pressure difference, as indicated in dotted lines, through a small orifice 21 which starts from the bottom of the annular slot 20 and terminates on the outside,
It comes within the scope of the invention that the central reinforcement as well as that of the edges can receive any shape.
As regards the reinforcement at the edge, it does not need to be symmetrical. It is therefore possible to provide a rim only on one side; furthermore, it can be formed in particular also by a wire ring which, like the plate 12, is surrounded on each side by flange material, which can extend outwardly above the ring wire at a distance such that the membrane only rests on the housing at the end of the wire ring.
CLAIMS.
1. - Membrane intended for measuring and regulating devices, in particular for measuring partial currents, according to the main patent, characterized in that the annular part of the membrane disposed outside the reinforcement (12 ) is reinforced by an edge piece (16) which cannot be detached without destroying the membrane, so that it acquires greater resistance to deformation when it is fixed in its housing or the like.
