DEVICE-FOR CONTAINER CLEANING MACHINES.
This invention relates to a device for introducing containers into container cleaning machines where the latter, for example bottles, are treated in a vertical position by an internal brush. Loading the machine by hand by placing the containers on the vertical brushes presents difficulties if a special auxiliary device is not used, particularly when the machine has a large flow. in the service of the machine must be able to place the containers on the brushes as easily as possible so that the loading can be carried out quickly, without disturbance
According to the invention, this object is achieved by making use of a device for feeding the receptacles constituted by a workpiece holder in the form of a clamp,
the jaws of which grip the container to be introduced into the machine, open by pivoting of the two support jaws, overcoming the action of a spring, and close automatically when the container is properly in place. The two jaws of the workpiece holder are preferably capable of pivoting each independently, the pivoting movement being transmitted to the two jaws in a positive manner, for example by means of toothed sectors. The container introduced is exactly centered on the inner brush by means of this device, so that when it is introduced into the machine, it comes to cap with certainty the inner brush.
The entire device can then pivot around another axis, so that it can move in the direction of rotation of the machine at the same time as the latter, so that even while the machine is running, the servant can push a container on the brush and the clamp of the workpiece holder can open.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing in which s

Fig. 1 is a front view of a rotary bottle cleaning and brushing machine.
Figs. 2 and 3 are both plan views, and
Fig. 4 shows another embodiment of a device for introducing bottles.
The cleaning machine essentially consists of a turntable 10 mounted by means of ball bearings on a base plate 111 The turntable 10 carries vertical brush rods 12 to which a rotational movement is performed. printed in a known manner.
13 designates a cylindrical brush which is also rotating9 for cleaning the exterior of the bottles 14. The mechanism for controlling the interior brushes 12 and the exterior brush 13 is located inside the turntable 10. The drive device for the table 10 is not shown. The bottles 14 are placed on the internal brushes 12 and the rapid rotation of these brushes has the effect of cleaning the interior of the bottle and the latter is then driven itself by this rotational movement. As a result of the rotation of the outer brush 13 and the circular movement of the bottles 14 around this brush, an effective outer cleaning is obtained.
In order to slide the bottles 14 on the internal brushes 12, a workpiece-holder device is provided consisting of two jaws forming a gripper 15 and 16 which can pivot about the axes 17-and 18 and are positively connected to each other by toothed sectors 19, 20. The complete device is mounted on a base plate 26 and is capable of oscillating about an axis 21, while a spring 22 or other force opposes this pivoting movement.
The two jaws 15, 16 are interconnected by a tension spring 23, which normally keeps the clamp closed. The ends of the jaws have a jaw-shaped curvature, and are chamfered (Figo 1) so as to form together a tulip-shaped clamp, in which the bottle is centered when it is introduced into the machine. , in such a way that its neck is threaded with certainty on the rod of the inner brush 12. When the bottle 14 is inserted, the two jaws 15, 16 move away from each other to against the action of the spring 23 and the pivoting movement of each of the jaws of the clamp is transmitted to the other by means of the toothed sectors 19, 20, so that a slight opening takes place of the clamp.
As the whole device can oscillate around the axis 21, the jaws 15, 16 can pivot at the same time in the direction of rotation of the machine and the serving of the machine no longer has to strictly observe the movement. where the brush rod 12 is exactly centered with respect to the center of the tulip-shaped enlargement of the jaws 15, 16. After the bottle has been threaded onto the brush, the jaws 15, 16 are brought back into their position. initial position under the action of the springs 23 and 22. The bottle-holder table 10 can turn both step by step and continuously; the device described is particularly suitable for step-by-step operation. The jaws 15,16 are then established in such a way that the tulip-shaped enlargement lies exactly above the inner brush 12 at the loading point.
In Figo 4, the ends of the jaws are not bent in the form of a jaw, but are provided with rotating rollers 24, preferably of rubber, and concave so that there is between the two rollers an opening for the introduction. bottles, the rollers can then rotate to facilitate the introduction.
The workpiece carrier is fixed to the inner wall of the outer container 25 of the machine and is therefore easily accessible while it can be easily assembled and disassembled.
