Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    MEMOIRE DESCRIPTIF Déposé a l'appui d'une demande de Brevet d'Invention Joseph de MONGE,Ingénieur,demeurant a Ensival rue Neuve

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

    DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY Filed in support of a patent application Joseph de MONGE, Engineer, residing in Ensival rue Neuve
RIBS FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE FLOORS
These reinforced concrete ribs, vibrated or not, have a thin trapezoidal section (a), they are made in advance on a workbench to the length provided for the span between beams or between walls. When the building is at height from the floor, we place the ribs on the formwork of the beams or on the walls as appropriate and we introduce from above between the nenvures thin iron sheets (b) curved in the form of arches.

  These sheets are supported on the sides of the two neighboring ribs and, thanks to their shape, cannot descend or slide down. Concrete (c) is then poured on these sheets so as to fill the entire space between the upper part of the ribs and the sheets. as soon as the concrete has set, the sheets can be removed from below the ribs by bending only very slightly the edge of the sheet on one side. difficulty and there remains between the ribs only a small concrete arch which, thanks to its shape, does not need any metal reinforcement. At the lower part of the ribs, during manufacture a small trapezoidal wooden slat (d)

  which is used to fix the ceiling whatever the nature of the latter.The reinforcements of the ribs are calculated according to the span and the load of the boards *

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 The self-weight of a floor made in this way is approximately 150 kilograms per m2. The inclination of the faces of the ribs, inalination which allows the sheets to be placed without them sliding down and then removed without difficulty, must not be exist in reality, that at the very place where the sheets are supported, we can therefore give the ribs in the other parts a shape whatever like for example that shown in (2) and (3) or a simple inclined shoulder (e) retains the sheets while allowing, thanks to its inclination, to remove them easily.

   The advantages of this invention are as follows: 1) Speed of construction, the ribs being fabricated in advance, from the day after their placement the construction can continue its course and the floor can be loaded.

  2) Lightness of the floors formed by very thin arches.

  3) Great rigidity of the floors thanks to the high ribs.

  4) Elimination of expensive formwork, the sheets can be removed from the second day and can be reused indefinitely. 5) Maximum iron savings.

Claims (1)

CLAIMS We claim: Ribs for prefabricated reinforced concrete floors and whose shape is such that a widening or inclined shoulder born of the rib allows to support the thin slabs in the shape of a voussettea serving as formwork for the floor between the ribs while allowing easy removal sheets after hardening of the concrete of the floor. ** CAUTION ** end of field CLMS may contain start of DESC **.
