Interrupteur électrique à dispositif de protection
EMI1.1
--------------------------------------------------
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Les fig. 1 - 3 montrent différentes dispositions de sûretés;

Electric switch with protective device
EMI1.1
--------------------------------------------------
The invention relates to an electrical switch with a protective device, the purpose of which is to automatically break contact between the network and the connected devices when, for example following an insulation fault, it occurs on the line. device a dangerous electromotive contact voltage. In a known protection device of this kind, the separation switch is actuated by a fault voltage coil, functioning as a safety switch and which is connected to the housing of the electrical appliance and, by a special earth pipe. , to an auxiliary earth electrode.
When an impermissible contact electromotive voltage occurs, a current flows from the faulty location via the voltage coil to the auxiliary earth electrode and switches off all the poles of the device.
The main fault of the known protection switch-disconnector consists in the fact that the relatively high energy requirements of the safety device require earthing carried out very carefully, to avoid accidental by-passages which make the operation of the device uncertain. protection switch. Therefore the connection pipe must be laid under insulation and it is generally necessary to choose a special auxiliary earth, which entails, in addition to the high purchase price of the protection device, also high installation costs.
In accordance with the invention, a conductive safety device is interposed, instead of a fault voltage coil, between the housing of the connected device or between another body to be protected against loss of current, and a point natural or artificial neutral voltage of the conductive system, this safety keeping the switch in the closed position, against the opening forces, and releasing, after its destruction, suddenly this switch by the action of the loss of current. This construction has the great advantage that it is no longer necessary to have a special auxiliary earth and the related earthing pipe.
All you have to do is connect one of the poles of the protection device to the device housing, and connect the other pole to the neutral conductor of the network or, in the case of three-phase current or installations with several conductors, to the center. natural or artificial neutral, or also to the earth.
Switching off the device is carried out in the simplest way by the fact that the disconnector switch is directly locked and triggered by the body of the protection device itself - Auxiliary components and moving parts are eliminated. , so that the new protective device can be manufactured inexpensively, does not require supervision and guarantees maximum safety in operation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
An essential advantage of the invention also consists in the fact that the protective safety device can be mounted directly in the socket outlet. In this case, there is no connection pipe between the protective safety device and the housing of the connected device, and a source of damage is thus eliminated, the monitoring of which, for the usual protective disconnector switches, is only possible. to tradesmen equipped with special tools. Instead of this connecting line, the plug may only have a contact which, when switched on, connects the housing of the device to the second pole of the protective safety device. Compared to commercial receptacle plugs with grounding contact, this execution is only slightly more expensive, while ensuring complete contact protection.
The protective safety per se can be shaped in any way and, as a switch interlocking device, it can be mechanically stressed in tension, compression, bending or otherwise.
From the electrical point of view, it is easily achieved without difficulty, so that it comes into action with certainty for low currents due to a fault. To obtain that the action time is made as short as possible, the protective safety can be manufactured in a conductive material in correlation with explosive materials, such as fulminate, or else with easily flammable materials, such as celluloid, this which ensures an abrupt and complete separation of the poles of the protection safety.
The object of the invention is shown by way of example in the drawing.
Figs. 1 - 3 show different collateral arrangements;
Figs. 4 and 5 represent a plug with isolation switch, side view and plan view, and
Fig. 6 shows a safety of protection,
In fig. 1 to 3, a designates an electrical appliance, for example an iron, a stove or a motor for industrial use which, by means of a separating switch b, must be automatically cut off from the circuit when, as a result of 'an insulation fault at point c', there is a dangerous contact voltage.
This function is fulfilled by a mechanically and electrically loaded safety cartridge d, one pole of which is connected to the device box c, while the other pole is connected, as shown in fig. 1, to the earthed neutral wire, as shown in fig. 2 at a natural neutral point e, and according to fig. 3 at an artificial point of zero tension f. The safety device d is dimensioned in such a way that it is destroyed if there is an inadmissible contact voltage on the device box c, as a result of the current due to a fault going from the box to the neutral voltage point.
In order to automatically cut the device a from the mains, the safety cartridge d is mechanically coupled to the separation switch b so that, when the cartridge d breaks, the tension spring g can relax and release. 'separation switch b.
Figs. 4 and 5 show a practical execution of such a safety disconnect switch in conjunction with a two-pole socket-outlet. Consequently, the connection terminals h, i are connected by means of support springs.

tact stirrup k, m which are bridged by a cross member n in non-conductive material. Each contact spring k, m is provided with a contact piece o, p with socket outlets q, r. A third contact s is arranged so as to establish, when inserting the plug, a conductive connection with the device housing c. The circuit between the contact springs k, m and the contact parts o, p is established by pushing the cross member n down.
In this position, the contact springs k, m are held by the safety cartridge ..9: represented by f ig. 6. For this purpose, the cross member n carries a claw t and the inner end of the contact pad s a slot in which the cartridge d engages by suitable coupling members visible in FIG. 6. As a result, an electrical connection is established at the same time with the contact pad s and, via the claw t and the contact spring k, with the connection terminal h, so that the safety cartridge d is connected. to the device box and to the neutral wire. By means of known measures, care must be taken to ensure that there is no confusion when connecting to the grid. It will be advisable not to provide a safety on the neutral wire.
Under these conditions, when a fault current passes from the appliance casing, via the contact s, to the safety cartridge d, the latter breaks, for example under the action of the heat generated by the disturbance current , and it follows that the contact springs k, m. tensioned beforehand, the contact parts o, p emerge and isolate the device from the network by all its poles. This process is repeated as long as the damage has not been removed.
To allow easy verification of the safety of protection and of the connection contacts, a small incandescent lamp w can be fitted in the plug with button x, connected as shown in fig. 1. The plug housing is made of insulating material; the introduction of the connection pipe is usefully done by a rubber sleeve z.
The safety switch-disconnector described can obviously also, in particularly dangerous cases, be used in conjunction with more extensive safety measures, for example by providing upstream of the switch a relay with neutral voltage or the like. The protective device can also receive its own resistance, for example in the form of a graphite film which, when the neutral voltage point is breached, prevents the passage of a dangerous current through the human body, to the touch the device housing.
