DISPOSITION PERFECTIONNEE POUR LE REFROIDISSEMENT DE L'HUILE DES MOTEURS REFROIDIS PAR AIR DANS LES CARROSSERIES PROFILEES AVEC
MOTEUR A L'ARRIERE.

ADVANCED ARRANGEMENT FOR OIL COOLING OF AIR-COOLED ENGINES IN PROFILED BODYWORK WITH
ENGINE AT THE REAR.

It is known that air-cooled engines, especially high power ones, also require oil cooling, because the air cooling of the engine would be insufficient. The construction and arrangement of the oil cooler poses difficult problems to solve. Indeed, the radiator must not be too far from the engine, and must be cooled by air streams other than those used for the engine coolant itself. In addition, the radiator must have sufficient strength because the oil circulates under high pressure.

According to the invention, the cooling of the oil is achieved by an oil cooler established in the form of a finned tube, placed either on the upper surface or on the lower surface of the exterior of the rear of the body

The accompanying schematic drawing shows, in partial elevations and by way of example only, two embodiments illustrated respectively by Figures 1 and 2.

In fig.l, the radiator 2 is placed above the rear of the body 1, while in figure 2, the radiator 2 'is placed below the rear of the body l 'of the body. Both arrangements offer the advantage that the oil cooler is easily accessible.

Claims (1)

ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an improved arrangement for cooling oil in air-cooled engines, and is characterized in that the oil radiator is established in the form of a finned tube, placed either on the upper surface or on the lower surface of the exterior of the rear of the body.
