<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Svx le dessin, le moteur est représenté par le rectangle en pointillé désigne par M. Le moteur présente deux enroulements inducteurs FI et F2 et un induit A. L'arbre du moteur est indiqué en 1, et est couplé de toute manière.convenable à l'arbre du conden- sateur non représenté et à l'arbre du commutateur de sélection 5 repré- senté par une ligne en pointillé 5. Le dispositif indiqué en 2 repré- sente un moyen bien connu pour mettre hors circuit le haut-parleur est pendant les opérations d'accord et/manoeuvré par le mouvement de l'arbré 1;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
d'ondes.

RADIO OR ANALOGUE RECEIVER STATIONS
The present invention relates to radio or similar receivers and more particularly to radio receivers of the type in which tuning is automatically carried out by the operation of a push-button or similar device.
In radio receivers of this type the pushbuttons have heretofore been switched on in such a way that the tuning control element is actuated when any one of the pushbuttons is actuated. If the waveband selection switch is operated to make adjustments in the receiver, for example on the medium waveband, and if a button represents
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- since a wavelength in the range of long ounces is manipulated, then an agreement is produced which does not correspond to% nothing. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide means for an agreement resulting from similar conditions cannot take place.
According to certain characteristics of the invention, in a radio receiver comprising a certain number of push-buttons or similar devices arranged to effect an automatic selective tuning of the receiver, said buttons or devices are divided into groups corresponding to the range of wavelengths which they represent, and means are provided and arranged for selecting one or the other of the groups and for coupling the selected group to the tuning control element. In a convenient example of implementation of the invention, the waveband selection switch is provided with an additional set of contacts and an associated contact arm, and the bus bar common to a group of buttons. or similar devices is connected to its corresponding contact on the switch,
contact which represents a particular waveband.
The switch thus constituted by the contact arm and the contacta is arranged to control the motor actuating the tuning control element, for example by being inserted into the supply circuit of the motor actuating said tuning control element. . The pushbuttons are also in series in the same circuit, and therefore a button of the correct group must be actuated to complete the motor supply circuit through the said switch which will be set according to the selected waveband. . The invention will be explained in detail in the following description based on the single figure of the accompanying drawings, which schematically shows an example of an arrangement of circuits according to the invention in a radio receiver set arranged to be controlled from the receiver itself and from a distant point.
In a push-button receiver of the type shown on
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In the figure, a reversible motor is arranged to drive a capacitor in either direction to tune the receiver to the desired wavelength. The motor is controlled by the 'push button'. ''. wave. I wave representing the transmitter station or the desired length and a selection switch: These arrangements are well known and will not be described in more detail in the present description.
In the drawing, the motor is represented by the dotted rectangle denoted by M. The motor has two field windings FI and F2 and an armature A. The motor shaft is indicated at 1, and is coupled anyway. the shaft of the capacitor not shown and to the shaft of the selector switch 5 shown by a dotted line 5. The device indicated at 2 represents a well known means of switching off the loudspeaker is during tuning operations and / maneuvered by the movement of the tree 1;
The motor M is supplied from the secondary winding SI of a transformer T with multiple secondary windings and the primary P of which is supplied by a suitable source.
The other secondaries S2, S3, S4 supply the heating filaments of the cathodes of the thermionic lamps, the rectifiers for obtaining a direct potential or other devices requiring a separate supply circuit. '1
The pushbuttons for selecting a particular transmitter station are indicated at B1, B2 ..... B10, and each of them is associated with a contact of the selector switch 3 as., Shown.
A push button B1 is shown for the operation of the remote control but does not form part of the present invention. A button B12 is also provided to adapt the arrangement of the present invention to remote control operation which will be described in more detail below.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Buttons B1 to B10 are divided into groups according to whether the transmitting stations which they represent transmit on short, medium or long wavelengths or in a group outside these ranges.
In the drawing for simplicity, only two groups have been represented, namely the long and medium wave groups. Buttons B1, B2, B3 represent transmitting stations transmitting in the long wave range and buttons B4 to B10 represent transmitting stations transmitting in the medium wave range.
The bus bar common to group B1-B3 is connected to a fixed contact piece 6 associated with the push button B12, and the bus bar common to group 84-B10 is connected to the fixed contact piece 7 associated with the button B12. If there were other groups, the bus bar common to each group would be connected to a corresponding fixed contact piece of B12. The moving part of B12 is provided with the same number of contacts as there are groups or wavebands, and each contact part is connected to its respective fixed contact on the waveband switch 4.
Thus, - the contact 7 of the moving part of B12 associated with the group 84 .... B10 of the medium wave range is connected to the MW contact of the wave range switch, and the contact 6 of the moving part of B12 is connected to the LW contact. In the PU pick-up position of the waveband switch, the receiver is disconnected. Other stationary contacts 10 and 11 are associated with B12 such that when the moving part is lowered the waveband switch contacts are connected to the remote control apparatus.
The SW (short wave), LW (long wave), MW (medium wave) and PU (Pick-up) contacts cooperate with a rotating arm 4a which slides on them and is fixed on the axis of the range switch
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of waves. The arm is connected to one end of the secondary winding S1 of the transformer T and the other end of the winding is connected to the motor M. It can be seen that in this way the motor excitation circuit is in series with switch 4 and one of the pushbuttons B1 ... B10.
In this way, when the 1-back range switch is set to receive an emission on a medium wavelength, the arm 4a will contact the MW contact and only the buttons of the. group B4 ... B10 will be able to act :. to close the Motor circuit. In a manner (analogously, when the waveband switch is in position on the long wave contact LW, only the buttons B1 to B3 can act to close the circuit of the motor M.
Thus only the knobs corresponding to the selected waveband can become active when operated, which avoids erroneous tuning effects such as those likely to occur in systems where all knobs can act on all. the wavebands.
The operation of the motor for tuning the receiver is not described in detail here being well known per se.
When using a remote control arrangement, the button B12 is depressed which connects the busbars of the groups of buttons in the remote apparatus to the respective contacts of the waveband switch 4 through leads C1 and 012.
It should be understood that there is a contact such as 10 and a conductor such as C11 for each group of buttons or each waveband.
Conductors C1 ... C10 connect the pushbuttons of the remote control unit to the corresponding contacts of selector switch 5 as in the case of buttons B1 ..... B10 in the drawings.
Although the invention has been described in the case of an example :. ple particular embodiment, it is clear that it is in no way limited to it but is, on the contrary, susceptible to numerous modifications and adaptations without going beyond its scope.
