"Manufacturing process of permanent magnets cast in alloys of the Fe-Ni-Al type".
The invention relates to a process for manufacturing permanent magnets cast in alloys of the Fe-Ni-Al type, that is to say in alloys for permanent magnets, indicated by Mishima, the main constituent of which is iron and which contain 7 to 40% nickel and 3 to 20% aluminum. The invention consists in rapidly cooling, immediately after casting, the molten liquid alloy. Among other ways of proceeding, this operation can be carried out advantageously by casting the molten alloy to the desired shape in metallic shells.

mold in the recess of the melting crucible itself - possibly with subsequent shaping of the casting in this mold - the contents of the crucible can conveniently be cooled rapidly by spraying the crucible with water or by spraying the crucible with water. blowing cold air on him. Obviously, in this case, the crucible should have thin walls and its thermal conductivity should be as good as possible; Since under these conditions the crucible is exposed to great fatigue, this process can only be recommended for the manufacture of a small number of parts.
CLAIMS ---------------------------
1.- A method of manufacturing permanent magnets cast in suitable alloys of the Fe-Ni-A1 type, characterized in that the molten liquid alloy is cooled rapidly immediately after casting.
