<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
welidahige herkomst of, samenstelling.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
EMI4.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Diamantslyperssehyf and Molen"
This invention relates to improvements applicable to the diamond hyves used for slotting or otherwise finishing gemstones.
These improvements can be applied either to the sheaves of the ordinary spindle model, which is rotatably suspended from both sides, or to the new sheaves with free suspension, and more particularly, which are part of the improved slurry mill according to the invention.
The improvements of the proper sehyph are for the purpose of economically applying a slurry agent in one or more degrees of finesse in order to be able to perform different operations successively on the same sehyph.

This diamond grinding mill includes a horizontal rotating disc, to be arranged so that any obstacle disappears from the environment, while allowing different people to

The diamond grinding mill according to the invention is therefore

hovsnuitoinde a clamped horiznt3Kkt s1i3ps.hi3 bears of ordinary or special construction.
This disc with accompanying motor or transmission is set up in a metal frame on which a table top is additionally attached, so that it lies around the disc.
The actual grinding wheel according to the invention consists of a metal plate on which one or more concentric grooves are recessed on one side, in which diamond powder, diamond grains or stones are fixed in a random manner. These individual grinding circles can be respectively filled with an abrasive of different fineness, so that successive operations can be performed on the same disc.

performed.
The hub forming part of this km / 8 wheel, as usual, has a concentric groove along the underside into which an equilibrium mass can be placed for balancing the disc on its axis.
This method of equilibrium regulation is already known, but practical it is not always sufficient, so that an additional equilibrium regulation according to the present invention is provided.
This additional adjustment is possible in that a second conical groove is recessed in the upper part of the disc hub, which is closed by a metal cap or ring and in which, after complete set-up of the mill, the additional
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
weight is placed, which must serve to make the entire rotating part at high speeds perfectly balanced.
This new grinding wheel, arranged on the grinder according to the invention, allows several persons to work on the same machine, by the fact that the entire top frame, which usually has to support the wheel, falls away.
Due to the presence of the different grinding rings in the disc, each of these persons can perform a specific operation on the stone, making use of one of the grinding rings.
Due to the fact that grinding powders or grains of different grinding power are used, and that each operation is performed by a specialized worker, it is thus still possible to process the smallest stones economically.
By way of example, in the accompanying Figures 1, 2 and 3, a practical implementation is shown using the principles of the invention, as regards the disc and the mill.
Figure 1 shows a vertical section of the improved grinder mill with the new grinding wheel.
Figure 2 is a vertical section of an improved grinding wheel arranged according to the old construction method.
Figure 3 gives a special view of the additional equilibrium regulation.
According to the invention, the new grinding wheel consists of a metal disc 1, in which three concentric grooves 2, 3 and 4 are recessed according to the example. A mixture is fixed in these grooves. Consisting of diamond in the form of powder, granules or stones and an adhesion cement of
EMI3.1
wealthy origin or composition.
Preferably, an abrasive of different coarseness is applied in the different grooves 2, 3, 4,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
so that a particular diamond can be finished first, then correctly cut and polished in a minimum period of time and on the same disc * @
The disk 1 has a sonic hub 5, which is disposed on the top end of the high-speed shaft 6.
This hub carries a concentric groove 7 on the underside, in which an equilibrium mass is placed, in such a way that at the necessary high speed the total mass remains completely in equilibrium and no vibrations can occur. However, such a complete equilibrium can only be achieved when
EMI4.1
set up, the disk is fully set up and ready for operation. However, it is then no longer possible to make changes to the groove 7. According to the invention, a second groove 8 is then provided on top of the disc 1, in which any additional weight can be placed, which will bring about complete balancing.
In figure 3 this construction method is more specifically represented, where 8 represents the auxiliary groove and @ 9 the additional weight.
In order to keep the latter in the groove, a closure cap 10 is provided, which can be screwed onto the hub and at the same time covers the fastening nut 11.
The abrasive wheel described above can also be arranged according to the old construction method, indicated in Figure 2, with the spindle 12 supported at both ends.
This case is only of concern if the old type of molin is maintained.
The invention likewise relates to an actual grinding mill that allows to fully utilize all the advantages obtained by the new grinding wheel!
Indeed, according to this new boaw method, a metal frame 13 is provided, which takes up a minimum of space
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
and in which the rotating part with the disc is arranged in an adjustable manner.
In addition, a table top 14 is arranged around the grinding wheel, so that the various persons working on the same grinder have a convenient support and work table.
The disk 1 can either be mounted directly on a motor shaft 6, or receive its movement by a belt transmission or the like.
According to the example shown, the electric motor 15 is built into the frame 13 and the disc 1 sits directly on the motor shaft 6. It is important here to provide cushion bars that are set very precisely, in order to avoid any adverse vibration. avoid*
