<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Fixed armature of magneto-electric generator.
Under the benefits of the International Convention of 1883 with regard to the patent application filed in Germany on June 14, 1932.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention relates to a fixed armature of a magneto-electric generator, and more particularly such a low power generator, with a high number of poles and where the poles are formed from a sheet of single or multiple thickness, having its rolled face. in the air gap.
We know that the weight of an electric generator is all the less, for the same power and the same speed of rotation, as its number of poles is greater, and this because of the reduction in weight of the circuits magnetic than due to the weight reduction of the electrical circuits. This rule also applies to small magneto-electric generators, such as those, for example, which are intended to produce lighting for bicycles.
It would therefore seem that it would be possible to establish such generators in a more economical way, by providing them with a high number of poles. However, the increase in the number of poles entails such complications, from a constructive point of view, that we have hitherto hesitated

pass six, exceptiomia.lBmet eight poles.
The armature according to the invention has precisely been produced with the aim of providing a construction making it possible to increase to a large extent the number of poles, without causing prohibitive constructive complication.
The construction of this armature is characterized by a support part comprising cells through which the poles pass, the free end of these being held by at least one fixing ring, and the support part centering at least part of the poles with respect to the geometric axis of the armature.
The drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an armature at a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
single row of poles.
Fig. 2 is a similar view of an armature with two rows of poles.
Fig. 3 shows in cross section how one of the generator bearings can be fixed to the armature.
According to fig. 1, the support part 1. is constituted by a pressed or molded member, metallic or not, for example made of brass or of an insulating mass.
On the left of the part shown, there are poles made up of a single sheet, said sheet being fixed to the support part in the following manner: a sheet, such as 2 or L is threaded through one of its ends in a cell such as 4, and the other end, once all the sheets are in place, is held in place by a strapping formed by the ring 5.
The right side of the figure likewise represents the placement of double sheets constituting poles 6 and 7 of double section of the preceding ones.
If the support part is made of metal, ie. in an electrically conductive material, it will be avoided that it becomes the seat of eddy current, by opening the cells as shown at 8, so that the latter. do not constitute short-circuited turns surrounding the pole plates.
The inductor, not shown, will rotate around the inductor which has just been described, for example in the direction marked by the arrow 9 and around the axis 10 which is at the same time the inductor. 'geometric axis of the support part.
The armature according to FIG. 2 differs from the previous one by the fact that it has two rows of poles, an inner row made up of poles 11, 12, 13 and 14, and an outer row made up of poles 16, 17 and 18.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The left poles 11, 12, 15, 16 have been shown with one layer of sheet metal, and the right poles 13, 14. 17 and 18 each with two layers of sheet metal.
The support part is thus constituted that, for each pair of poles, two cells are provided, such as II and 20, two fixing rings 21 and 22 then obviously being necessary.
The formation of short-circuited turns will be avoided in the case of a metal support part, by providing slots such as 23 connecting the two cells of a pa.ire of poles.
; At 24 has been shown in broken lines the frame of the generator or shell, which can be used for centering the outer row of poles. In order also to avoid the generation of parasitic currents between the support part and the shell, if both are metallic, it may be useful to include the faces 25 centering the support part in the shell, d 'an insulating varnish.
In this second example, the field magnets follow the path of the arrow 26, therefore rotating about the geometric axis 27 of the armature.
Fig. 3, which shows a cross-sectional support part, shows how one can fix one of the bearings of the generator to it. The pad 28 located in the axis of the support piece 29 is held in place by an elastic member 30. Inside the support piece, at 31, a free space can then be reserved for placing therein. lubrication means.
It is obvious, and as has already been said, that the poles can also be constituted by more than two layers of sheet metal.
