isolation of internal combustion and internal combustion engines RIE - 111- compress blasts and pumps. The present invention relates to improvements to internal combustion engines, compressors and pumps, characterized by the simultaneous movement of the cylinder or at least of the cylinder head of the engine cylinder in correspondence and in opposition to the movement of the sliding piston in this cylinder
The accompanying drawing shows schematically, by way of nonlimiting example, one embodiment of the invention.
Hitherto, fixed cylinders and movable pistons have been used in internal combustion engines, or even, in certain internal combustion engines, cylinders in which several movable pistons moved so that the bottom of the cylinder constituted by a piston seemed to move with respect to the usual piston.
However, these various -dispositifs had the drawback of only allowing the production of very heavy engines with sometimes very long connecting rods or requiring the use of several crankshafts linked together by mechanical means such as

that gears or. other s.
The present invention relates to improvements intended to remedy these drawbacks and to allow, in particular, the production of engines operating in a manner almost identical to that of double-piston engines but infinitely lighter and simpler to produce.
It also applies to the construction of all other types of engines and all devices operating by cylinders and pistons such as compressors of any fluid and pumps.
On the housing I of the. engine is fixed a guide 2 which is used to direct the movement of a cylinder 3 whose cylinder head is shown at 4 and which is linked by one or more connecting rods 5 to the crankshaft of the engine 6.
On the same crankshaft is fixed the connecting rod, 7 of. piston 8 sliding in cylinder 3.
As shown in the figure, it can be seen that with a stroke equal to half of the stroke of the piston in the cylinder of an engine of known model, complete compression is obtained and likewise the explosion occurs with a stroke equal to half the stroke of that of normal motors.
We therefore obtain less inertia of the moving parts and the possibility of increasing the speed of rotation.
Likewise, the moving cylinder can carry any other members such as valves or others which can be controlled by the movement of the cylinder itself in combination with stops on fixed points carried by the casing and the cylinder can be controlled. still carry intake or exhaust ports which by its movement come to be in front of corresponding openings carried by the crankcase.
If necessary to cool this cylinder, the cooling

construction of engines.
It goes without saying that the shapes, details, raw materials, various arrangements of the linkages and connections with the crankshaft, can vary without departing from the scope of the present invention.
