<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Dans le mode de réalisation représenté à titre d'exemple, 6 est un étranglement ménagé sur le parcours d'un courant gazeux réalisé à l'intérieur de l'aile, 7 représentant une fente à travers laquelle se trouvera aspirée la couche limite 5 ; est la buse de sortie des gaz au voisinage du bord de fuite 13 de l'aile; 9 est le canal d'écoulement des gaz à l'intérieur de l'aile; 10 sont les longerons de l'aile; 11 l'axe de symétrie de l'aile; 12 le bord d'attaque; 18 l'or- gane producteur de gaz, compresseur d'air, collecteur d'échap- pement de gaz d'un moteur à combustion ou à explosion, brû- leur pour combustibles divers tels que 1 charbon pulvérisé, buile lourde, explosif liquide ou solide etc..;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
fente 7.

"High lift and propulsion wing for air vehicles."
Aerodynamic laboratory experiments have shown that it is possible to increase the lift of an aerial vehicle wing by forcing the air to go around the dorsal face of the wing without taking off beyond a certain angle of attack.
The means used for this purpose all tend to achieve an increase in the air speed at the point where, due to the shape of the wing, this speed decreases to a certain value for which there is separation. airflow and wing surface and the production of vortices between the wing and the deflected airflow.
@ The present invention relates to a method of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
embodiment shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings.
On these drawings:
Figure 1 is the view of the section of an ordinary wing, intended to show the production of the phenomena recalled above.
FIGS. 2 and 3 represent, respectively in section and in half-plan, a wing produced according to the characteristic arrangements of the invention.
Figure 4 relates to a variant of the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3.
FIG. 1 shows the section of an ordinary wing which moves in the air in direction 2; 3 shows the layers of air streams which move above the wing; 5 is the boundary layer which detaches from the wing, and 4, the region of eddies and eddies created in the space thus formed.
The boundary layer 5 has a speed which increases from 12 to 17, that is to say substantially from the leading edge to the master torque, then decreases from 17 to 13, ie. say substantially from the main torque to the trailing edge of the wing; from a certain angle of incidence, the boundary layer of air takes off and this phenomenon creates a great increase in resistance to advancement for a lift which does not increase in the same proportion, and which may even decrease.
In Figures 2 and 3, it has been further shown at 1, the wing seen in section, moving in direction 2, at 3 the layers of air streams which move above the wing, in 5 the boundary layer.
The invention essentially consists in using a stream of gas, compressed, obtained by any suitable means, suitably conducted inside the wing, this current having the effect, on the one hand, of sucking up the boundary layer, in locations suitably located on the dorsal side of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the wing, and, on the other hand, to increase the speed of the air layers which were above the boundary layer, by the high speed ejection, of the gases at the rear of the wing ; to the lift effect thus obtained, a reaction effect is added which contributes to the propulsion.
In the embodiment shown by way of example, 6 is a constriction formed on the path of a gas current produced inside the wing, 7 representing a slit through which the boundary layer 5 will be sucked; is the gas outlet nozzle in the vicinity of the trailing edge 13 of the wing; 9 is the gas flow channel inside the wing; 10 are the wing spars; 11 the wing's axis of symmetry; 12 the leading edge; 18 the gas producing organ, air compressor, gas exhaust manifold of a combustion or internal combustion engine, burner for various fuels such as pulverized coal, heavy fuel, liquid explosive or solid etc .;
the combustion chamber and the pipe 9 are so arranged that the combustion gases escape at 8 at a very high speed, notably greater than the speed of movement of the wing. The realization of the active part which sucks the boundary layer and ejects the gases at the rear of the wing is established on the principle of the vine tubes by failure of the venturi. The pipe which goes from 7 to 6, and through which the boundary layer is sucked, advantageously has a double-cone section (converging inlet cone and diverging outlet cone forming a diffuser); at 6 is the rear part.- 'of this diffuser which corresponds to the throttling zone of the gas pipe which is itself treated as a diffuser with a converging front inlet 6 and a divergent outlet forming a diffuser from 6 to 8.
The gases, passing through the constriction 6, acquire a high speed which creates a strong depression having the effect of sucking the boundary layer 5 through the @
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
slot 7. The boundary layer being thus sucked up at a high speed, this speed has the effect of increasing the flow speed of the air layers above the wing, and, consequently, of increasing the lift . In addition, the gases escaping at 8, also at high speed, entrain the layers of air which were above the suction layer, and also impart an acceleration to them.
Figure 4 shows that the rear lower part of the wing 14 can oscillate around an axis 19, which makes it possible either to close the discharge nozzle (position 13) or to hook the section of the diffuser (position 16). When the rear part occupies position 13, a better aerodynamic efficiency is achieved than in the case of position 14, if the wing is used without ejection, the gas-producing member 18 being stopped. This flap can be used, in operation with gas or without gas, as a left flap in differential connection with the corresponding flap of the other part of the wing.
