Appareil pour assurer le secret
<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>

<EMI ID=9.1>
<EMI ID=10.1>
<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=12.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>
<EMI ID=15.1>
<EMI ID=16.1>

Apparatus to ensure secrecy
<EMI ID = 1.1>
A system and apparatus including
the aim is to safeguard the secrecy of telephone communications.
For this purpose, the transmission is carried out in the ordinary way, but the transmission line (or the ether) is intentionally loaded with noise initially and cleaned up.

capturing the osoillations of the ether, it will receive in its
receiver incomprehensible noise.
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example,
one embodiment of the invention.

Fig. 1 schematically represents an installation
of two stations A and B according to the invention. At station A

same frequency as Kl, but shifted with respect to it by
half-period. This K3 device is called a disruptor.

third circuit El of transformer Tl is joined to line Ll L2. or to a T.S.F. installation. The disruptor K3 is coupled to the line by one. transformer

Transmission from one station to another ,. for example from A to B, is carried out as follows:
The diagram of FIG. 2.shows that, if the devices

ordinary telephone system.
Indeed,. the microphonic currents "generated by
<EMI ID = 9.1>
transmission would therefore be effected ', but naturally without guarantee of the secrecy of communications.
To obtain this guarantee it is necessary to start up the devices Kl K2 and K3 and adjust them in such a way that the
<EMI ID = 10.1>
K2 of a daiiii-period, all the amplitudes of oscillation being
roughly equal.
As soon as the disruptor K3 begins to operate, the currents will be superimposed on the microphone currents flowing in the line L1 L2 or in the ether. As the currents emitted by K3 are., Of an acoustic frequency, they will produce in the receivers which are connected to the line L1 L2 a musical sound, which will cover the conversation and make it unintelligible.
But, arriving at station B, these currents, transformed
<EMI ID = 11.1>
Fig. 2 shows that two sinusoidal currents S1 and S2 of the same amplitude and of the same frequency., But offset with respect to each other by half a period, cancel each other out.
Receiver R2 will therefore only be subjected to the action of the microphone currents, which will transmit the words spoken in front of the microphone M1.
Transmission in the direction from B to A will be carried out in the same way.
The invention can also be applied to broadcasting in the event that the transmitting station is intended exclusively for a circle of customers paying an annual fee or, in general, forming a private company.
In this case, it will suffice to provide all the beneficiaries
<EMI ID = 12.1>
by the employees of the Company. The disruptive tone should be kept a secret and changed from time to time to prevent fraud.
The invention also lends itself to eliminating atmospheric and other interference in broadcasting. In this case it will be necessary to broadcast on two waves. The first wave will be used for ordinary broadcast and the second will broadcast the same sounds, but
<EMI ID = 13.1>
received by an apparatus according to the invention in such a way that the offset currents will be directed into the apparatus K2 and the currents <EMI ID = 14.1>
of spool wound in the opposite direction to the winding of the ordinary spool of the receiver. Thanks to this the two parasitic currents - one brought by the. first transmission and the other by the second transmission - will cancel each other and the reception will be purified.
If for some reason it is not possible to apply the offset currents, it is possible to use in all the devices Kl K2 and .K3 a current of the same phase. In this case it will be necessary to change the winding direction of one of the coils in
<EMI ID = 15.1>
be easily phased. The restitutor K1 can be removed and the coil G1 can be supplied by the disturber K3. It is obvious., That, thanks to the reverse winding, the

installation (Fig. 3).

It is obvious that the two disruptors only actuating the devices which are at the same station as themselves the phases and the nature of the currents produced by the disruptors.

adjustment is not essential.
It is easy to see from the diagram that it is possible to join together in one the wires L1 and L3 without disturbing the operation of the system, which will reduce the number of wires to three.
In case, if the number of wires should not exceed two or one wire with the return by the earth, the invention can
