Multi-degree electrical purification process of gas by means of high voltage pulsating direct current.
The present invention relates to a process for the electrical purification of gases which are treated in several degrees or stages by means of spout fields supplied by pulsating direct current at high voltage. In such a process, the scrubbing effect can be significantly improved as follows.
According to the invention, the various degrees of purification are supplied with currents of different frequency. The choice of the appropriate frequency depends on the nature of the gas to be purified. When it is for example dry gases, the suspension particles of which have insufficient conductivity, the procedure is advantageously so that the first stage of purification is supplied with '@

DC current pulsating lower than the current of the following degrees. In this way, in the first degree, the reduction of the pulsation of the direct current is almost completely avoided, the production of disruptions which act disadvantageously on the degree of dust removal. However, the ionization of the gas increases its conductivity.
Consequently, in the following stages of purification, the gas tends to a lesser extent to disruptions. It is therefore possible to supply the following degrees with a direct current with a higher number of pulses than the first degree. It has been found, for example, that it is advantageous to conduct at the first stage of purification a direct current of 25 to 50 pulsations per second, and to conduct at the following stages a current of more than 50 pulsations per second. .
However, a state of too strong ionization can occur, so that the following stages of purification take too much current. In this case, it is advantageous to supply the last fields of the purification plant with direct current with a lower number of pulses.
When it is a question of the purification of gases of which the dust particles have in advance a good conductivity, it is advantageous to supply the first field with pulsating direct current with a high number of pulsations, but the following fields with a lower pulse number current, in order to avoid, in this way, that in the second field and the following fields the current reception becomes too strong as a result of the strong ionization. The fact that the number of direct current pulses corresponding to the state of the gas is chosen for each degree of purification, makes it possible to obtain in each case the most advantageous reception of current and the most advantageous separation effect. more advantageous of the gas purification plant.
