<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Electric machine afraid of high voltage.,
In electric machines for high ::; voltage, placing sufficient insulation in the high voltage winding presents great difficulties. The isolation in this case requires a lot of space and considerably reduces the good use of the machine. When in machines of a given power we want to switch to a higher voltage for the same power, we can no longer use the model intended for this power and we must take the model intended for a greater power which makes the machine larger and more expensive.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks by the fact that the insulation of conductors of the same width superimposed in a groove is carried out with a different thickness in the direction of the periphery and this in such a way that this insulation thickness increases over time. the radial direction in the direction of the periphery, closing only at the maximum delimiting circle of the groove, that is to say that in the case of grooves
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
arranged in the stator of the machine, the thickness increases towards the bottom of the groove and in the case of grooves arranged in the rotor towards the air gap. The tensions will increase in the same way between the iron of the machine and the successive conductors of a groove.
The teeth located in the winding region and belonging to the sheet package retaining the winding are further advantageously dimensioned so as to have over their entire height exactly the same or approximately the same width.
This results in the result that a currently misused space between the grooves is employed for the placement of the necessary insulation due to the voltage rise while at the current packing nothing has to be changed or the we must change little compared to the normal model. Magnetization losses in teeth are reduced because for the same volume of teeth a tooth with parallel blanks develops less losses than a wedge-shaped tooth. In addition, the tooth induction barely becomes larger than the stirrup induction.
Favorable heating conditions are therefore obtained. The air gap induction should not be reduced.
As other advantages, abundant dispersion and good shape of the curve of the electromotive force produced in the machine are obtained. In the case of the application of the invention to stator windings, in which the conductors of the lowest voltage are towards the rotor, the winding should not, for tension considerations, be placed deeper. and the outside diameter of the stator sheet bundle should not be increased.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 1 of the drawing. This shows in section the part e of a package of stator sheets with a groove n. In the groove are arranged one behind the other in the radial direction the conductors 1-6 and according to the present invention they are surrounded
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
an insulating layer whose width increases towards the bottom of the groove, while relative to each other they are also strongly insulated.
At the same time, the example embodiment shows a particular embodiment of the insulation. All the conductors are first surrounded by layers of equal thickness i1-i6 of individual insulation. The individually insulated conductors are furthermore surrounded by two common insulation layers a and b, the outer layer of which has the same thickness everywhere, while the thickness of the inner layer a increases towards the bottom of the groove. This layer is advantageously established in such a way that it is first also made of the same thickness everywhere and that the excess material is, for example, removed from the layer by milling.
Another form of isolation is shown in fig. 2.
Five conductors 7-11 are shown in a row. The conductors also have individual insulation layers, the i7-i11. In addition, the conductors 10 and 11 are surrounded by a common insulation casing c, the conductors 9, 10 and 11 by a similar casing d, the conductors 8-11 with a casing e and all the conductors of a common envelope f. These groups of separately insulated conductors therefore each have a common insulating shell which surrounds the individual insulation of the conductors. Common insulation jackets are the same size everywhere.
In order to avoid cavities between the layers, the individual insulation of the conductors 7 to 10 is not chosen everywhere of the same thickness but it is completely eliminated on the side facing the conductor located outside the common envelope and this by becoming thinner on the sides of the conductors towards this side so that it is partly replaced by the insulating layers common to groups of conductors.
For the arrangement of a winding comprising an isclament made according to the present invention, a particularly advantageous embodiment is furthermore obtained when the winding is established in such a way that in the winding of a phase one passes from first all insulated side conductors
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
most weakly in the direction of the periphery and then the successive layers of conductors in the radial direction. The smallest voltage differences between the bar layers superimposed in the grooves are thus obtained. A similar winding is shown in fig. 3 for a machine with two excitation poles. A loop winding with two coils for each phase has been used here.
The different loops of turns of a coil of one phase are successively driven through all the assigned grooves from side to side and then the loops of the second coil of that phase are conducted into all the grooves assigned to that phase in reverse. This is then repeated with the second layer of conductors and subsequent layers.
When passing from a coil of this phase to the next coil of the same phase, we would go, in accordance with existing usage, from the end of the conductor g located at the top of the front connectors of the first coil. el, as shown in dotted lines in FIG. 3, to the first conductor t of the second coil s2 with a front collector h at the apex point k of front connectors of another phase, and thence back to the beginning of the conductor t.
Similar ring connections can be avoided according to the present invention when the end g located at the top of the front connectors, of the first coil is connected directly to the commemeoment of the first groove conductor of the following coil and this by means of a conductor. connecting link extending parallel to the busbar connectors of the first coil. This conductor does not directly reach the beginning of the first bat of the secon. coil but one end of the last bar of a neighboring phase. It must therefore, at its end be bent towards the beginning of the first bar of the second coil.
To facilitate the connection, some bars receive, according to needs, more protruding ends than others.
As in high voltage windings any gap between the insulating material would lead to luminescence phenomena, the different insulation layers are advantageously
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
plunged before assembly in an insulating lacquer which advantageously has a dielectric constant of the same value as the material of the layer.
The winding described does not present any difficulty either at the crossing points because there is in these places the maximum phase voltage and not as in other windings the chained voltage.
