La figure 1 est une coupe verticale à travers un talon pour- vu d'un élément interchangeable et pratiquée suivant la ligne A-B de la figure 2; la figure 2 est une coupe transversale suivant la ligne C-D de la figure 1 et la figure 3 est une vue en plan de dessous de l'élément de portée du talon ; la figure 4 montre un détail et la figure 5 est une coupe longitudinale d'un autre détail à échelle plus grande; les figures 6 et 7 montrent des formes de réalisation spé- ciales des organes servant à fixer l'élément de portée ; la fi- gure 6 montre en coupe suivant ligne A-B de la figure 7 une forme de réalisation applicable à des surfaces de l'espèce ,en cuir, tandis que la figure 7 montre la surface ou plaque vue d'en dessous;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Shoe element with interchangeable reach plate".
The invention relates to a shoe element with an interchangeable reach plate and nozzles fixed in the fixed part of the heel. These nozzles admit corresponding bushings or journals, previously fixed in the bearing plate, and they are put in place and held by pins located in the heel. The main feature of the invention consists in the fact that in order to facilitate the replacement of the bearing plate, use is made of a screw with a large head disposed in the center of the heel; by unscrewing it we separate the plate
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
of the heel itself and then it can be easily and completely removed by hand.
The invention is shown in the drawing referring to a lady's shoe and which is on an enlarged scale.
Figure 1 is a vertical section through a heel provided with an interchangeable element and taken along the line A-B of Figure 2; Figure 2 is a cross section taken on line C-D of Figure 1 and Figure 3 is a bottom plan view of the heel bearing member; Figure 4 shows a detail and Figure 5 is a longitudinal section of another detail on a larger scale; Figures 6 and 7 show special embodiments of the members for securing the bearing member; Figure 6 shows in section along line A-B of Figure 7 an embodiment applicable to surfaces of the species, made of leather, while Figure 7 shows the surface or plate seen from below;
Figures 8 and 9 likewise show an embodiment applicable to rubber plates, figure 8 / being a section taken along line C-D of figure 9; FIG. 10 shows in section another alternative embodiment for rubber plates.
Reference 1 designates the heel, in leather or wood, and reference 2 the leather plate attached to it. The plate is provided, at the time of its manufacture or, in any case, before it is used, with three nozzles 3 or more directed towards the heel and which are provided at their end directed towards the plate. 2, a flange 3a. The nozzles can be fixed to the plate by means of a pin or plug 4, with a conical end, which passes through a corresponding hole.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
from the plate, penetrates the nozzle 3 and is thus engaged both with the latter and with the plate. In this state, the plate is ready to be laid.
To admit and retain the nozzles 3 in the heel 1, there are in the latter, in a known manner, corresponding bushings 5, the width of which is calculated in such a way, with respect to the diameter of the nozzles 3, that the friction or the tightening created when the two parts are assembled is sufficient to hold the plate on the heel.
To mount the plate, it is therefore sufficient to push these nozzles into the sockets 5.
To secure the sleeves in the wooden or leather heel 1, a conical plug 6 made of metal is inserted halfway into their anterior cylindrical end before pushing them into the heel. When fitting the socket, this plug is pushed fully or nearly fully into the socket and thus the front end of the latter flares out, as shown in Figures 1 and 5 so that the socket does not can come off the heel.
In order to facilitate the removal of the interchangeable plate from the heel, the following device is provided in accordance with the invention.
At the center of the heel 1 is fixed a bush 7 with internal thread in which a screw 8 can move. The head 9 of this screw is, in the embodiment shown, on the outside of the heel 1 and against it. the inner surface of the plate. In the screw, there is provided a hole 10 for the placement xx of a key and in the plate 2 there is a corresponding hole, narrowed towards the outside which, in a known manner, can be closed by a rubber stopper 11 in to prevent the penetration of moisture. Using a pointed object, for example a key point, which penetrates the hole 10, it is possible to
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Now remove this cap 11 and then insert the key into the key hole of screw 8.
By unscrewing the screw 8, its head 9 detaches the plate 2 from the heel 1 so that the plate can easily be removed by hand and replaced by another.
On the side facing the heel, the plate 2 may be provided, in a known manner, with a celluloid plate 12 as a measure of protection against humidity. In the example shown, this plate surrounds both the nozzles 3 and the screw head 9. However, the latter can be embedded in the heel 1. In this case, the washer 1 has the sole function of surrounding the nozzles 3 as well as the central hole provided for the penetration of the key.
In accordance with Figures 6 and 7, the journals 3 intended to penetrate into the fixed part of the heel are provided with a thread at their rear part, which allows them to be screwed into the corresponding holes of the leather plate 2; in front of this thread they carry a conical rim 4 which limits their depth of penetration and which serves to reinforce or support them on the material of the plate.
In Figures 8 and 9 the journals 3 are provided, inside the rubber plate 2, with a conical rim 5 and carry a head 6 at their rear end. Holes 7 have been formed for these journals in the rubber plate which have a flared outer part intended to receive the head 6 as well as an inner, narrower part serving to receive the neck of the journal 3 provided between the flange 5 and head 6.
<// We push these pins from the outside into holes 7; conical rim widens the narrower part of the hole so that this part is folded around the neck of the journal after passing the rim; it follows that the journal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx always has a very fixed position, because it
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
is supported at one end by the flange 5 and at the other by the head 6. To receive the flange 5 in the fixed part of the heel
1, the necessary recesses are provided in the latter.
When the plate is fixed, the outer part of the holes 7 is filled with a rubber stopper as well as the central key hole 10.
In accordance with Figure 10, the bolts 3 with a relatively large head 8 are cast into the rubber plate 2 when preparing the latter. These head journals are formed in one piece by die-forging or by a similar operation so that in use the journal cannot be separated from the head.
The celluloid washer 12 is suitably employed in the embodiment shown in Figures 6 and 7 while it is not used in the embodiments shown in Figures 8 to 10.
