Explosive mixture injector for starting explosion engines.
The present invention relates to an injector operated by hand from the driver's seat, with the aim of instantly sending to the cylinder of a motor vehicle engine, for example, a sufficient quantity of very rich fuel mixture to ensure the engine start.
Essentially, this device comprises a pump body fixed to the apron of the car, and whose piston is operated by an external button, this pump sucking on the one hand fresh air, and on the other hand gasoline. , which is absorbed by a material such as spunk which the air expelled by the pump must lick off to reach the engine cylinder, thus filling up with gasoline and forming, with a suitable dosage, a very rich explosive mixture for starting. Communication between the pump and the engine and the fuel supply is cut off automatically by blocking the pump piston as soon as the engine is running normally.
The invention consists of a pump construction and

@ a combination of members which will be described below, with the support of the accompanying drawing by way of example, in which:
Fig. 1 is an axial longitudinal section (the pump, as shown on the apron of the car, in the rest position.
Fig. 2 is a section along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig 3 is a section along III-III of FIG. 1.
A tube 2 is screwed into the apron 1 of the car, ending behind this apron with a bowl 3 which receives the cylinder 4 or pump body. This tube 2 is kept fixed to the table by a nut 5 and by a cap 6 screwed onto it and secured to the apron by screw 7. In the tube 2 can slide a rod 8 which is the rod of the piston 9; this rod is operated by a button 10 screwed onto its end on the visible face of the apron.
The cylinder or pump body 4 is closed at its other end by a part 11. Into this is screwed a threaded connector 12 drilled right through a duct 13 in which is housed a needle 14 whose tail 15 is extended through the conduit 16 formed in the part% and a similar conduit 17 formed in a washer 18 housed under the part 11. This washer is made of an absorbent material such as felt.
The needle shank is grooved, as shown in fig. 2, so as to determine between it and the cylindrical duct 16 passages 19.
The end of a connected tube 20 is screwed onto the connector 12. via raooord 21, on the fuel supply, either to the carburettor, or to the fuel tank, or to the nurse.
Another connection 22 is also screwed into the bottom part 11, which ends in a channel 23 made in this part 11.
This channel 23 ends in the axis of the cylinder 4, at the location of a channel 24 made in the center of the washer 18. On the connection 22 this screws a part 25 whose internal hollow has a projection 26 against. which is supported by a spring 27 acting
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
in order to press a needle 28 housed in this hollow, against the opening of the internal duct of the connector 22, said part 25 is connected to the tube 29 which, by the connector 30, is connected to the cylinder of the motor. the needle 28 is oannel '(fig.3) so as to leave passages 31 between it and the cylindrical wall of the pipe in which it is housed.
The piat; one is closed with a sealed head 38 screwed onto the thinned threaded end of the piston rod and held there by a éorou33, The piston rod ends beyond the éorou 33 by a needle 34 likely to cross the duct 24 and thunder the passage 23 of the room 11,
Finally, the cap 6 has a threaded portion 36 on which the extension 36 of the button 10 of the piston rod can be screwed, and the bowl 3 which forms the bottom of the pump body is pierced with one or more openings. 37 for the air inlet.
For starting, the parts 36 and 35 being disengaged from one another, the button 10 is operated; the air enters through the opening 37 and the gasoline eet sucked through the tube 20 and, passing through the passages 19 (fig, 2) comes to soak the washer 18. The section of the passages 19 is determined empirically for obtain sufficient imbibition of the washer 18. The air delivered by the piston licks this washer 18 and thus becomes charged with gasoline (becomes saturated); it flows through channel 24, 23 and finally tube ±, after having raised the needle 28, the rich explosive mixture is thus admitted to the cylinder (s) of the engine and ensures a rapid start.
During the suction movement of the piston, the needle obstructing the channel 23, allows the piston to act only on the tube 20 and not on the tube 29.
When the engine is running, or, more generally, when the pump must remain inactive, part 36 of button 10 is screwed onto µµ the needle 34 of the piston rod then closes passage 24 and the éorou 33, applied against the washer 18,

maintains the needle 14 applied against its seat.
