EMI1.1
l'axe d'une alvéole v8rtie.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention, due to the collaboration of Messrs SOHM and SAVARY, relates to an oven for the continuous distillation at low temperature of all solid fuels, previously agglomerated or not; this furnace comprises vertical cells containing the product to be distilled and heated by the circulation of hot gases in the cas.eaux which constitute the side walls of said cells; hollow spacers are further provided between the kernels to capture and direct to a suitable collector the volatile products of the distillation, which are also completely recovered.
The characteristics of the invention will moreover result from the description which will follow and which refers to the appended drawing, given solely by way of example and in which:
Figure 1 is a partial cross section of a furnace according to the invention, said section passing through
EMI1.1
the axis of a v8rtie cell.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Figure 2 is on * oaupe, transversely to the alveoli, along line C-D of Figaro 4,
Figure 3 is a section taken along the line E-F of Figure 4, au. right of a spacer,
Figure 4 is a section along the line A-B of Figure 1,
Figure 5 relates to the construction detail of the oarneau. adaptation of distillation gases.
According to the embodiment shown, the furnace essentially comprises a series of cells A, of suitable dimensions, but of restricted width, containing the fuel to be distilled and of which the walls created, are heated by a current of hot gases. - culant in the vertical flues B.
These hot gases come from 0 gas burners, flat at the top of the flues B.
We can assemble, side by side. the number of cells A, necessary to constitute the furnace capable of the desired output
The walls of these cells are made of very thin refractory materials and to provide them with the necessary transverse rigidity, spacers D, also of refractory materials, have been provided to connect the transverse walls to one another, from place to place. These spacers can naturally be more or less apart.
One of the interesting features of the oven lies in the construction of these spacers. They are, in fact, provided in such a way as to enable the volatile products resulting from the distillation of the fuel to be captured and to be delivered to the appropriate, well-known treatment apparatus located outside the furnace battery.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
For this purpose, the spacers D. are oonstitué by elements or them, stacked vertically. Between each element is left a slit in the form of a louver blade E (see FIG. 5) communicating the cells A where the fuel in distillation is located with the internal zone of the spacers. These slots are only available in the region of the oven where the release of volatile matter takes place.
The upper element of the spacers is solid, while the lower element? is gold them and, moreover, in this last element the internal space extends from one edge to the other so that during the assembly, all these lower elements F constitute a horizontal oarneau.
This G. oarneau is linked to the distillation gas receivers and the extractor. Under the action of oe last, the volatile products, emerging from the bosom of the mass of fuel during distillation, as they are released, gain the hollow spacers through the orifices M and are evacuated by the oarneaux G.
The distance between two panels of spacers D is small enough so that the path of the volatile materials inside the cells A, is very short; favorable circumstance avoiding the pyrogenation of the products of the distillation, which thus do not have to undergo contact with the heating walls.
The base of each cell of the oven is terminated by a box H for cooling, which box itself ends with an extraction valve 1 (FIG. 2) with alternating operation.
The cells were loaded by means of a conveyor serving the entire top of the oven.
EMI3.1
The fuel descends by gravity and the unloading
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
operates thanks to the reciprocating movement printed on the valve
1 by mechanical means.
The unloading operations follow one another at regular intervals so as to achieve an almost continuous operation.
It is understood, moreover, that the invention is by no means limited to details. execution shown and described which have been chosen only as an example.
