Description : ECHELLE DE SURETE POUR PEINTRES.

D. fig. I et fig.

   Description: SAFETY LADDER FOR PAINTERS.

The painters safety ladder is mainly used to paint cornices, giving full safety and comfort to those who use it.

It consists of: I) a fixed part comprising the scale proper as well as two uprights located in the same plane as the scale (C. Fig. I).

The ladder and the two side uprights are fixed to each other by two crossbars both at their upper part and at their lower part (See C figure I).

At the two upper rails, at the marked places
D. fig. I and fig. 2, three iron suspension hooks are attached to be held in the cornice. These hooks are also attached to the uprights of the fixed part; 2) a movable part consisting of two upper and two lower boards connected by two uprights
F. fig. 2, on which are screwed three protective crossbars. The upper and lower planks are fixed to the uprights of the fixed part by bolts around which they can pivot, as are the two uprights based on the same principle.

The lower boards are made horizontal by two safety rods fixed on the one hand at their end, on the other bolted to the end uprights.

 of the fixed part.

Detail H fig. 2 is used to pass a piece of wood preventing the ladder from hitting the front windows. Fig. I represents the scale from the front. Fig. 2 the ladder seen from the side. The dotted line in figure 2 indicates how to fold the ladder. Figure 3 gives the section through A. B. of fig. I. It shows the safety floor represented by I. which is the fixed floor and by J. which is the movable floor placed on parts I. - Figure 4 represents the folded ladder placed on a thing allowing it to be transported easily. . This thing consists of a wooden axle resting on an iron frame in which two bicycle wheels are embedded. Detail K fig. 4 indicates the entire detachable part. - Figure 5 shows how to apply the ladder to the wall.

As can be seen from FIG. 5, the lower boards supporting the floor are completely horizontal despite the degree of inclination of the ladder itself.

The proposed ladder therefore presents all the maximum comfort and safety necessary for cornice painting companies, it allows a larger covering surface than with an ordinary ladder, it is also easily transportable and it weighs only 30 kg.
