Abstract

Hierbij geeft het opgemeten vetgehalte aanleiding tot het aansturen van de procesparameters in de percolatie extractor, terwijl het opgemeten vochtgehalte aanleiding geeft tot het aansturen van de procesparameters in de Desolventizer-Toaster.This invention describes a control system for the solvent extraction and drying step in a continuous rendering process with the aim of obtaining a uniform and optimized end product, the protein meal, with a known protein content. The optimized protein meal is characterized by a fat content between 2.5% and 4.5% and a moisture content between 2.5% and 4%. The control system uses in-line near-infrared measurements of the fat content and moisture content of the protein meal immediately after drying. The measured fat content gives rise to the control of the process parameters in the percolation extractor, while the measured moisture content gives rise to the control of the process parameters in the Desolventizer-Toaster.
